Had a 390, wouldn’t get another. The high revving nature of its engine means you spend a lot of time slipping the clutch on low speed manoeuvring and crawls like crap, its buzzy when you are hovering at 100kmh, low suspension travel, requires 95RON fuel, so if you’re going remote - you need to take octane booster with you, don’t care for tubeless - because if you dent a rim, or stake your tyre, your screwed if you are far away from civilisation and no 21” front wheel..

The process to turn off the traction control on the KTM is still very frustrating, there is no justification to put such equipment on a 40 horse power bike. We realized too late also that this bike was equipped with a quickshifter, which would make the bike even faster on drag race at the traffic light. Ivan at the end resumed quite well the situation and came to the same conclusion of my first review of it, it's a nice toy to play with. I could live with a KTM 390 adventure even for long ride, at the price point, it's a very good deal, I may even have taken one if I could have done this test ride before buying my CB500X. The suspension and brakes on the KTM are superior to the Himalayan But the Himalayan is a well made bike and the 21 front wheel is a must for off-road riding The ground clearance is also better on the Royal Enfield Now for long travel, the CB500X would be still a better choice

Soooo, I was expecting, we, Ivan and I and many others, were expecting this bike to be, THE Unicorn adventure bike that exist only in our wet dream of us little adventurers 😂, well a dream is a dream, a Unicorn 🦄 stays a Unicorn, it doesn't exist, I truly think that we are wrong to seek a manufactured perfect adventure bike for the masses, after testing this CF Moto 450 MT and sitting back on my Honda CB500X, I thought to myself "what a wonderful bike I own" and that my friends, says it all, would it make me switch ? Nah, is it a good little package ? Yes, but just like the CB500X is, the CF Moto is a starter pack to be transformed into a tool that will fit our taste and use. I was not happy when I switched from my Kove/hunter Maverick 500 to my Honda CB500X because I had to transform the Honda into a more adventure capable bike, but once done with the transformation of the Honda, would I go back to the Chinese copy of the CB500X? Nah, so this CF Moto MT/Ibex 450 just copy a small Yamaha Tenere adventure trail bike, but it is just a copy, after copying Cruiser Harley style, now the Chinese company copy trail adventure bike, it's normal and natural, and they did a good job with the MT/Ibex 450, but it is still a bike to modify, to transform. The manufactured Unicorn just doesn't exist, transform, modify to your needs, that's the key.
