Excellent. Love this. I’ve got a Sizzix and I find that the dies can be variable in their performance! Enjoyed watching you experiment and produce some great cards Maggie.

@DianeStehly Sorry, I don't work for Singer. I can only refer you to the instruction manual and if help needed there's a Singer Helpline contact number that can help you. I think Id first check that I'd threaded the machine correctly, then loaded the bobbin correctly. Good luck.

I was so happy to see your video. Because I've been saving velvet and velour fabrics for over 30 years. I'm finally at the point where I'm ready to make this quilt. I've practiced with a quilt and read up on the fabric. But I wasn't able to find any tutorials on a quilt made out of velvet clothing. That's until now. I loved how you broke all the rules as I will be doing the same. I hope your friend appreciated the time & frustrating moments it took. But mostly the love you put into this beautiful one of a kind quilt.
@thecheshirecrafter4522Ай бұрын
@fallinstarzz5081 Thanks for your comment and I'm glad you not only enjoyed but benefitted from this video . I'm very impressed that you have such a vintage collection, you must love fabrics! Not only is it difficult to sew, mixing the type of velvets makes it more of a challenge. One piece of advice - if I were going to make another velvet topper, I would not use a fleece as a backing. Instead I'd opt for cotton or soft brushed cotton. That way there are fewer conflicting warps, wefts and directions the fabrics want to fall in. I hope my neighbour really gets good use of it this year with the raises in energy prices. Good luck and enjoy experimenting with your Quilt.

I'd search Ebay or a Google search to see if anyone has a manual for your machine. I wonder whether it would be helpful to photograph some of the pages of the manual for my 99K? On holiday at present, but I might do that when I return.

Lovely. Thank you so much. I hang layers of quilt over bannisters and pin together vertical areas but not where they go over the rail because it’s turning there so there’s more fabric on top side.
@thecheshirecrafter45223 ай бұрын
@bella-bee That's such a good idea. I don't have a horizontal bannister in my flat only 45degree ones, but we tend to have to think outside the box sometimes as Quilters, don't we?

@thecheshirecrafter45223 ай бұрын
@Kelsey-s1z Turn the handle away from you (clockwise) to acheive a forward stitch. If you turn the handle towards you ( anti-clockwise) to acheive a back stitch. My machine's not keen to do a back stitch. Hope this helps.

Update Maggie. First canvas patch sewn across canvas chair back. Strong as anything and even though it’s very tired in the middle, the patch take’s the strain to the sides which are good. So it’s safe to sit on and lean on. ( army folding chair). Thanks to your vid I got the cotton routed right and the bobbin installed correctly. Messed with the tensioner a bit and have nice even stitches. Had the machine twenty years, my missus has said on numerous occasions you don’t use it get rid. I always said I’ll use it at some point. And now I have and she’s quite impressed. I can see a load of jobs being thought of now! Cheers!!

The soft toys are taken in and cared for overnight to preserve them. Many of the flowers and gifts will be donated to local care homes and charities.
