The first time I heard this was when that guy (forgot his name) blew the horn when the Arnhem bridge became on fire.
@stevenlovell34663 жыл бұрын
Major John Frost, commanding officer of the 2nd Battalion, Parachute Regiment at Arnhem. Used a hunting horn to rally his men when they landed at the drop zone, as it would have been very confusing, with different units arriving in the same area

Trail hunting is not tradition little man. Trail hunting was invented in 2005 as a cover for continuing your barbaric ways.

ya the fox hunt got banned because British people are a confused delusional people that let the powers to be push them around like a bunch of weaklings they are now. the people are now the fox being hunted and slaughtered maybe one day they will rise up again and regain there manhood back

@japhfo8 жыл бұрын
+Paul Bartow That's the supposition made in Wikipedia. Over the years, a number of authors have taken this ball and run with it. Washington's Adj General, Joseph Reed, said the 'insulting manner' in which the British light infantry played their bugle signals - (and they used a different instrument to the one above) was _like_ calls made at the _end_ of a fox hunt, which would not have included 'Gone Away' in any case. Other Americans present said they heard LI bugles being used to rally and call for reinforcements, which sounds more likely- but doesn't make such a good story.
@davidprosser72784 жыл бұрын
I was just going to say that. Saw a meme on Face Book. So, I thought I'd try to find the actual call here.

Hi there, would you mind looking at this video and telling me what the bugle tune is? (the tune repeats a few times at the start... the first one being at about 15 seconds in). I feel I've known the tune all my life but I can't place it. I thought it was the bugle from The Light Brigade... Then I thought it was from the start of 'I Wish I Was In Dixie' but it's neither. Thanks. /watch?v=Ic-uap3tbto
