This is Blackface. They are mocking Black people. When it became tv show, they cast two Blackmen. Al Joelson was White and painted face. The mocking in song Mammy is unbelievable. Simple painting face is not the same.

This is the science fiction I grew up on. The kind that makes you think, not just recycled Flash Gordon stories like Star Wars!

Originally broadcast on CBS (under the sponsorship of 3M [Scotch tape]) on December 2, 1956 at 5:05pm(et). This was Jack's final radio broadcast; repeats of earlier episodes were heard on Sundays {"THE BEST OF BENNY"}; a repeat of the January 30, 1955 episode {"Jack and Don Visit the Beverly Wiltshire Health Club"} was later heard that evening.

This shit scared me so bad when I was a kid. I remember when I was like 6 (in the 2000s) some station was doing re-runs of this show I guess?? But my mom liked it so at night when we went to sleep she put it on & the intro always scared the fuck out of me

The Defence Counsel's increasing levels of insistency in his objections clearly shows he was fully aware that evidence of ballistic analysis would clearly blow his case out of the water and also make him look incredibly stupid for passing it off as scientific nonsense...

0:19 _(Paladin pulls gun out of its holster, cocks the hammer and points to the audience.)_ "In all my life, I've only seen a dozen real killers. But I've seen ten-thousand people who'll sit back and let murder happen. Which is the greater evil?" _(Paladin carefully lets the hammer of the gun down gently, without letting it fire, and withdraws his gun back into its holster which shows off the attached silverish figure of a knight chess-piece.)_

So lovely to spend a quiet evening hearing glories from many years ago still giving their beauty, still blessing our world. It is the grace and power of God that so much that feeds our souls is still feeding earth’s people. Thank you. Thank you.

I also had the set of cassettes of this many years ago (and still listen to a random one here and there), but for those who haven't heard this before, it's a real treat. More than anything else you can find, this gives you a taste of what radio was really like, not just the highlights or some episodes of classic shows, but the full range of what you heard while working, washing the dishes, cleaning the house, etc. So glad this will be available to new generations via YT----it's "you are there" history that's priceless.

Radio pioneers for sure. Amoss N Andy was the first program that didn't stereotype black Americans. Way ahead of their time. Best radio show ever.
