Kind of insane to think about this show and the difference in characters. Nevermind the obvious difference of why Kaiba’s hair is green instead of brown, (which you gotta wonder if Noah was a subtle reference to this older design) I’m talking about the Pharaoh going from a relatively mild albeit passionate gamer with a protective streak in the main series to an out and out PSYCHOPATH in season 0. Like seriously, this dude is TERRIFYING 😂

I know, he looks so weird. It appears to have been a stylistic choice by the show’s writers to make him seem more intimidating. I don’t think his hair was that color in the original manga 😅

Old Kaiba saying "what are you gonna do in two turns?" Hits SO different in modern, where competition only needs one turn to win and we got finals won with an Exodia. It's mind boggling. Old school Kaiba would melt if plucked into the current.

Utmost due respect to Dan Green's Yugi, but to me, this Yugi is the true "King of Games" - he defeated his opponents in various types of games, not just Duel Monsters (predicting that I'm walking into a lion's den... heeeere we go)

Nah, you’re right. That was Takahashi’s original vision for the series. Yugi and the Pharaoh were supposed to excel at all games. It just so happens that a little card game called Duel Monsters, a relatively minor blip in the game pool of the manga, became stupidly popular and Takahashi was kind of forced to change the trajectory of the story. That’s why season 5 is so important; it was Takahashi being allowed to veer back to the story he’d always wanted to tell

Hi, I LOVE this??? I grew up with the dubbed Americanized version of Yu-Gi-Oh!, and though I loved it and that's what initially got me into the series in the 1st place, this S0 content is SO COOL to see, and we really get to see a little more of Atem.

I love how most of Kaiba's MO after the initial game is to just throw other people at Yami and watch him beat them up while he chills on the sidelines. Especially considering how later he's harassing Yami for a duel every chance he gets.
