Nice that is a very slow auger which probably is a little annoying if you're used to a fast grinder, BUT that IS likely going to help with grind quality if you're wanting maximum clarity and less fines. Even without the slow feed auger, the SSP MP burrs are actually slower to grind than most other 64mm burrs because it doesn't have the aggressive inner pre-breaker part most burrs have. Why do you have what looks like a 3d printed hopper ontop? Does the slow feed auger popcorn more?

@@BensCoffeeRants that is a bellows to help blow out anything out and also helps to lower the pyramid of ground coffee in Weber Blind Shaker
@BensCoffeeRants21 күн бұрын
@johndavidson402 oh I don't think it's needed for that grinder but also I think it's a bad idea if that's a 3d printed bellows. I'd be worried it's going to end up degrading and getting plastic into your grinder / coffee.

John, How would you say the slow compares to the stock auger? Thanks for posting!
@johndavidson40224 күн бұрын
@TheBigBowy That is a tough one. 1st, it's a lot slower for time wise. It may take 1 minute to a minute & half to grind 19 grams for espresso. Now, I am using 1.5 to 2 sprays of RDT instead of 3 sprays of RDT. The rdt sprays do affect my TDS valve, so the fewer sprays, the better for me. Also, it does appear to be a more even consistency from start to finish of the grind. The consistency is very impressive, I thought it couldn't improve, but it did for me. Before with the medium feed auger I would start the grinder up and slowly add the beans until the auger was fully loaded and started to back up in the hopper and then I would dump the rest of the beans in. Now I just start the grinder up and load it up because the consistency is way better from the start for me. Now, with the SSP MP Red coating burrs and the slow feed auger for me, I had a nice cleaner and more smooth shot of espresso, and I didn't think that could happen. Hope this helps some.

things i noticed. most importantly is when someone says they run 2 degrees of camber they are talking 2 ON EACH SIDE. with this you would have to set it to 4 degrees, adjusting each side the same amount (2 on each side). this system makes it harder to tell if both sides are have the same toe or camber. you dont need to keep switching the lazer from side to side. just adjust the other side, the board will move. the lines on the turnbuckles indicate which side is right hand threaded which makes it easy to tell which way you should turn them to lengthen or shorten them, orient them all the same (all to the left or right).

After a ton of headache, got the base tune and 7 stages unlocked. It apparently voids the warranty, and the wheels damn near blow off the rims when barely squeezing the trigger. I'm guessing it's to fast to put a run down without a ton of trial and error, but it's fast.
