I'm glad to see Chargepoint on the channel. They're in a lot of places around me in Colorado Springs, CO. They're very reliable & they don't put a hold on your card like Rivian & EV Connect do. And now the partnership with LG! I'm thrilled that I bought some more Chargepoint stock through Chase earlier today.

Some people will get a real bargain on a used Fisker if they are happy to take the risk on third party insurance and can buy with cash.

Francie, when you are excited you have much less vocal fry. Sitting in a studio will always make us relaxed and increase the fry. And (I'm a musician) close micing boosts fry AND compression boosts fry (and and and) audio tech is not helpful to woman's fry because it amplifies it 3 to 4 times louder than men who also have it. That's not fair. But with all of that in mind the thing you can do, which you ARE doing here is enjoying your subject and being as happy and enthusiastic as you are being here. That enthusiasm will help you breath deeper as you are doing here. Enthusiasm makes for both good content like here but also good audio.

I wasn't burning to watch this video. I'm glad I did. Thanks for both of you for bringing me into your worlds. (Live interviewer and charging entrepreneur) I'm an American living in Denmark driving 10 year old diesel. I'm staying on the front end of the knowledge curve for EVs for when my car eventually dies. And presently hyper-miling my car while driving 30 minutes to work each day. Trying to lessen the impact of the car I already own for as long as it will exist on thus earth (rather than buying an ev and selling my problem to another person who would then push it to its max pollution levels)

I was considering buying a Rivian. This is one of the reasons I haven't pulled the trigger. There's no guarantee that these startup EV companies will remain viable. That's not a good place to be in if the company goes bankrupt. Too much risk....
@SiuLeung17 сағат бұрын
and to think if Apple just waited and not waste $10 billion on EV research then cancel the project. They could have just bought Fisker for pennies on the dollar. They could pick up all the assets for less than $1 billion and since they are a software company, they could have just redo the software from the ground up and have their own nice EV.

The truth is out about EV s the simple way to put it is an EV has the same type of battery as a cellphone and we know that damage to cellphone batteries occurs when you leave it in your car the lithium batteries perform poorly in cold weather, minor accidents means scrapping the car if the battery is damaged, depreciation is through the roof so I think the EV honey moon is over

Fisker has no chance in the first place. Car manufacturing is capital intensive. They gonna need at least $10B of cash, not $100M, in order to survive mass produce

We had the XC40 - Recharge.....sorry to say, it was the worse EV experience we ever had. The tCAM had to be replaced 2 times in 2 months. One time the car died at work...wouldn't charge, couldn't unlock it. FInall got it to charge but had to drive it to the dealer in "SOS" mode (their suggestion). They had it for 5 days and for the next 6 months (before we sold it to get the R1T), my wife refused to drive it because she didn't want to risk being stranded. At 100% charge I was lucky to get to work (145 miles away). I regularly had to stop and charge (luckily that was free from EA). This was a 2022 model.

One of the lessons one could take from the situation with Fisker is that you should not purchase vehicles that don't have the features - either software or hardware - that you paid for.

Imagine how lenders feel for those who financed a Fisker. They didn't understand the risk of the collateral being worth almost nothing before the loan was paid back. They might think twice about lending on new brands in the future.

I am EXTREMELY satisfied with my EV, however you might call it a 2/3 EV 1/3 hybrid. I researched for about 3 months and back 3 years ago pure EV ranges were in the mid 200 miles per charge or less. I got 2020 BMW i3s REX which I thought was horrible looking. Since I drive an extremely cool 1992 BMW 850i which gets very bad gas mileage being a 12 cyl I wanted to eliminate some stopping at gas stations. BUT I did not want to have to stop for electric within 220-230 miles and have the 30+ min wait to charge up. Also WOW did we get lucky. Coming back from California to Phoenix there are only 2 charging opportunities. On New Years day we were on the route and charging spot 1 had a 3 car wait. I pressed the button that clicks on a 2.3 gallon engine that maintains the high voltage state of charge with a generator and continued on. Next charging station even more of a wait. Instead of electric I topped off the gas and kept going. So, I can do approv 170 miles on electric and 80 miles in hybrid mode, plus 80 plus 80 plus 80 if I want to or need to keep getting gas. It's pretty genius. I heard a tumor that a future release of the Cybertruck will have this range extender capability. It's cool to have the financial benefits of 170 of home charging inexpensive electric and the luxury of no range anxiety.

Some misunderstanding this is Chapter 11 not Chapter 7 , it allows them to continue to help customers. Yes agreed until the money runs out , but Chapter 7 would have meant an immediate shut of the doors. Sad that many don't understand the process.

I could care less if the charge limit is software limited to 80% vs 100%. I could live with it for 50% for all I care-I'm not going to push that limit on a typical daily drive. So I don't see the bragging rights for charging to 100%. No one charges to 100% for long road trip stops. The audio is a big one for me. Two subs and an additional amplifier is attractive. If the additional speakers are tuned for different ranges, that's all the more tempting. And the black Alcatera on the LR and Performance is great.

According to reports, the average lease payment for a new vehicle is $467 per month. I think Vinfast right now is offering the similar promotion of $239/month (with a $3,000 down) during this summer. Don't forget to ask them about the value of your old car trade in, so you probably won't have to pay any money down out of pocket.

Thank you, Francie for sharing your VF8 experience. I am driving a VF8 Plus, and it's been great after almost 4 months. It's always fun to drive the EV because it's smooth, comfortable and roomy. The best thing is that after my old car trade in and a $200 deposit, I pay only $280/month-roughly $9/day to lease a brand new and fully electric midsize SUV with a dual-motor AWD powertrain producing about 402 hp! I don't think any new EVs or ICE/hybrid vehicles nowadays can offer that unbeatable monthly car lease payment!

25:58 I can't watch the whole thing, this is so sad to me. Just a brilliant car designer, like DeLorean. I was blessed this morning to witness another Karma. This one was white, instead of the brownish I have seen in the past. This is how Fisker needs to be remembered. He should have designed a Hypercar like Rimac.

Actually, he did. If you go back to about the time he created this second company, he was showing his prototype with scissor doors, 700-mile range, and you can charge 500 miles in 5 minutes. He even showed his new battery on air on CNBC.
