I loved the movie. Somehow, I missed the series when it was playing.

Oh man! I loved the movie (I was 19 when it came out, so it particularly resonated with me), but I never knew there had been a TV series based on it. Which included some of the original actors. It's a shame that this never made it as a TV series---if they would have stuck with it, it could have been a classic. Thanks so much for posting this!

I missed this one somehow I was 10 , but I watched the movie over and over.

I didn't know that was a television show. Those days when people were intelligent enough to dress for the weather, exercise and reading.

I remember these being on tv in Britain in 1982 the year i finished school, seemed very relevant to me back then. Could never remember the name of the show these 40 years since but saw Vincent Gardenia in another article and i remembered he was the Dad in the show. Thank you for posting this a 42 year mystery solved at last (:

Fun, wholesome, family entertainment in the 70's. There is however no way Shaun's character could have changed his bike wheel tube in time to win the race. Just saying. "DA DOO RUN RUN"

This is the Best Episode so far of this series that I've seen! Unbelievable! The last half of it had it all. I was laughing, near tears, and jumping for joy almost all at once! I don't think I've ever had so many emotions affected in such a short time. Bravo to the creator of this show and Curse's to ABC for not giving this show more of a chance. And a Jeer unfortunately to gtogus--I see comments from 11 years ago that you're promising to upload the rest of the episodes! 11 years this has been going on??? Wow! I can't believe it, but you are the only one that has put this show on the Internet. I have one more episode to watch and that will be the 4th one so there's 4 more I and everyone else wants to see. You said you're a big fan of this show so I and the rest of the fans expect some big actions from you soon.

Always wanted to see this again! Can't believe I just found this on Internet. I saw the movie, but discovered the series when it was rerun the summer after it was canceled. In other words, became a fan too late! I'm halfway through watching this and still love it all these years later. Are all 8 episodes available now? I thought I only saw 4 or 5.

"Breaking Away",----from what? Good families in the USA with liberty and free enterprise opportunity? Look at kids their age at that time and earlier from all over the world, and ask that question again. "Breaking Away",----from what?
@EarthSurferUSA2 жыл бұрын
I never saw the series. I am just critiquing the title. But very little in hollywood was not twisted reality of how we grew up. "Rebel with out a cause" with James Dean is a key example.
@EarthSurferUSA2 жыл бұрын
"Rebel with out a cause" with James Dean is a key example,---of twisted. Financially sound families did not race gangsters. Even for the next 10 years, kids whose parents got them out of poverty, did not act like brainless thugs,-----until they went to Berkley.
@EarthSurferUSA2 жыл бұрын
Ohh, I guess "Breaking away" is a bicycle racing term. Never mind. :)
