Although it ain't a song from TWD's soundtrack, it fits perfectly with the series' ambience.

Dear Carl, I remember. I forgot who I was, you made me remember. I remember that feeling walking with you that day, like I finally knew who I was for the first time in my life. The thing is, we were walking side by side but you were bringing me somewhere. Bringing me here, bringing all of us to the new world, Carl. You showed me the new world. You made it real. I see it, I remember. - Dad

Stuff like this rarely shows up on my page, but it’s cool, so I’m gonna talk about my amazing XC season. Less than one year ago, I was in 8th grade cross country, could, not, even, run, a, quarter, mile. At my best I ran a 9:29 mile for the 3k. That was a miracle. I improved a ton that season from running 11 minute miles in the 3k but was still bullied for being insanely slow. Couldn’t go jogging without walking 2-3 times in the race. I ran a 5k for a Turkey Trot post season and got the same results. Over 30 minutes by a lot. Ok, fuck this. Freshman Year, new distance, 5k, pre-season race, 25:10, then a lost a minute, then another, then another, then another, week after week, then a meet came where the course was hilly and 90 degrees Fahrenheit, and I shaved of 47 seconds, was the only kid who PR’d, I had not had a single week where I didn’t PR by at least 47 seconds, and I averaged a bit over a minute. But it wasn’t enough, I needed more, and a race came, and I feel 6 seconds short of my PR. How humbling, I was hungry for more and starved, I HATED THAT SHIT, I had a week off until the next meet, and trained more then I told people and posted on Strava, maybe 15 miles a day, at least 13.5 a day. For 2 weeks, 2 hours a day. Then Saturday happened, my most recent meet, I got 21:00, P, fucking R. But only 20 seconds shaved off. I need more, this Thursday, I will sprint this 5k until my legs snap open or I blow my mind with an amazing finish. I am beyond, simply, and I will blow the world’s mind. This is one season, and I will come for everyone that doubted me, I have gotten most, but not all, I need to get them all, and more. Thanks for reading.
