Sensei was my first teacher during my first year in Japan. At the time, I had no idea what an honor it was to learn from him. After a year, I moved to another area of Japan. I will never forget the first time he demonstrated younkyo on me. He could cause great pain with the slightest touch. It was seriously magical and scarry. He will be missed!

Saito is well known in the west thanks to Stan Pranin. This aikido master relatively unknown. A gem to be discovered.

The original teachings are always best and it's great we have these archives so later deep state entities cannot alter it for the worse (like what happened to L. Ron Hubbard, being whacked in 1972)

IN FINE

A great master indeed, I had the honor to attend several of his training sessions in Paris in the 90s, a true master. IMHO

Another"expert" talks here.. Founder of Aikido and founder of Judo had the same teacher (Sokaku Takeda). Without Judo wouldn't be BJJ....Aikido is not about beating the shit out of an opponent, but to defend yourself with out destroy the attacker and has a big background of spirituality. Aikido is about the understanding your internal energy and how to use it correctly, Aikido is about self development, hence the characterization "the art of love"... The last 15 years i am into WTF Taekwondo but my first love was Aikido and had the luck to have an instructor that was a 3 Dan belt Aikido, a 2nd dan belt in Judo , had big knowledge about other styles, practicing boxing and even taekwondo and was for a brief time instructor of self defense for Greek special forces.. Don't judge if you know nothing and even worse if you think you know something.

Great. It is rare to get the essentials and fundamentals explained this way; here the profound philosophy and practice marries perfectly.

Harmony is non-contention. Shinken-shobu. Love. Arigato. Sensei. Your teaching: "Aikido is to spread happiness and joy and thereby promote peace and world harmony." Wonderful..!
