The fretboard is either too narrow or the spec between the strings (not and bridge) is way too wide. Just look at how the outside strings (the thickest and the thinnest) are almost to the edges of the fretboard. This is not good!

I am a 54 years old disable fireman who is being forced to give up volunteering after 17 year. I know absolutely nothing about base guitars but I want to learn to play one do you think your guitars are a bit too much for me or should II start with something a bit cheaper and easier, but your guitars are magnificent

Nice bowl. What finish did you use. Please consider not using a spindle toughing gouge for bowl turning. The tang’s can break where they enter the handle, it’s like a missile headed toward you at that point. Thanks for posting the vid.

@@CLyonsCreations I saw someone make a gap in the wood ring, and push the round shape stone into the gap, so the edge of gap hold the stone very firm. And he said it needs the wood with very good flexibility and extensional rigidity。otherwise the ring will crack when you push. But I am not sure that whether faced gem stones, like diamonds, blue sapphires or ruby, are suitable for this design, because that people only use round shape stones.
