It’s a fantastic idea to set the alarm to make sure you’re wearing the mask and have your CPAP turned on. It can be tough to get used to having the mask on your face with air blowing. Don’t give up. I paid $1000 for a F&P Sleepstyle when I stopped using my Philips CPAP when the recall was ordered. I had read wonderful reviews from an Australian CPAP reviews website. I had already used F&P masks for years with great success. SADLY I had to return my F&P Sleepstyle machine through the online provider 2 times and the 3rd time the machine failed it was after the 2 year warrenty. When it worked it was the best CPAP experience I have ever had (user since 2004.) I still use F&P masks, but now have a Resmed machine supplied with Medicare coverage.

Phillips did send mail to customers to use optional filter for a temporary fix for their recall machines. Later on, they found that they were not in the position to claim the positive results. Philips released the document to address ... , basically saying they never recommend to use such filters and they are not responsible. Think about that the customers found visible black pollens in the chamber and tubing. Is the filter really useless?

Linares will only "rent" you a machine. And they charge $20 per month, that's without filters or hoses. After a couple years you've spent more than buying your own. Linares is CRAP! Impossible to use.

I looked at the foam cushion and instantly decided against it. I’m OCD when it comes to having clean CPAP equipment. 🫧🛀 I couldn’t handle only wiping the cushion down with an alcohol wipe.

I understand the struggle with CPAP. It takes some time to get used to. Finding a mask and headgear that isn’t uncomfortable, doesn’t leak or makes a person feel claustrophobic is important. It may take trying multiple styles and brands of mask. I also found auto set on my CPAP to be helpful where the machine adjust the pressure depending on my needs based on what the sleep Dr recommended. Another suggestion is sticking to a routine bedtime schedule and turning off all electronics an hour before bed. I read and listen to calming nature music and get myself into the mindset of relaxation and sleep. For myself I found it took me approximately 4 months to acclimate to using a CPAP and a month to become accustomed to how the mask feels against my face. To all new CPAP users don’t give up. It can be frustrating and exhausting but working with your sleep Dr, respiratory therapist and durable medical equipment supplier eventually you’ll find it becomes easier and you’re sleeping throughout the night.

Can you change your therapy pressures from the app? I am looking for a travel CPAP that allows this without jumping through a lot of hoops with passwords and things because of my specific situation. EDIT: I found it in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKHRg4WrmK6AjrM . You have to hold down the settings button and the power button, apparently. Silly but at least not password protected.

I would eliminate the red tape that Medicare/Medicaid recipients have to go through for CPAP treatment
