I used to have this exact same memorex CD player and I remember buying it at Walmart way back in the summer of 2012 when I was 16 and I really liked listening to music at that time and I had a CD collection but nothing to play them on yet, so I bought this one, and when I got home that day I was so excited to unbox this cd player and when I put batteries in it and listened to a CD on there for the first time, it sounded pretty good and functioned right, I also took it everywhere with me and listened to songs on the go but then a year later something terrible happened to this CD player and I think it was in the beginning of 2013, so I was just sitting in my room one night listening to music and I had an AC power adapter plugged into it because I ran out of batteries and couldn't find any brand new ones anywhere in the house and then seconds later the song that was on cut out and the whole cd player turned off, there was even a slight rubbery burned smell, so I right away got up and checked the outlet it was plugged into but what was strange is that the adapter cord wasn't frayed at all or the outlet wasn't burnt and then I tried turning this CD player back on by pressing the buttons but nothing happened, it wouldn't turn on anymore, and when I tried again, it still wouldn't work, I was so sad and mad when this happened because I couldn't listen to my favorite CDs anymore and I really don't know if this CD player was defective when I bought it or if that AC adapter cord burned it out, so I didn't have this one very long, and it bothered me for a long time when this happened and I will never forget that horrible day and this was the very first time that I had a CD player short out and mess up right in front of me because I've had other ones before that and they lasted way longer than this one did, And I never told my parents what had happened to this cd player I kept it to myself and I was afraid that if I did they would of thought I wasn't taking care of whatever new stuff I got and wouldn't of let me buy another one and after this CD player messed up, I remember just stashing it away somewhere in my room and completely forgetting about it I had no use for this thing anymore because it was broken. But then later on in 2014 I went back to the store and bought another new one and I think the brand was Onn and this one lasted for a couple of years and didn't mess up at all.
