Not real GN’R but it is fucking epic! Probably the best song on the album and that album has some good songs!…… one thing I like about this guns n’ roses is that Axl got 3 guitarists to fill in for Slash, lol! ❤️🇦🇺

Awesome tune. I wouldn't say it's obscure though, maybe only to the newer generation. It's the 2nd track on AFD and they play it at at least 50% of their live shows. And yeah you got the meaning 100%. It's about all the "friends" they suddenly had after starting to get big around LA in the 80's. I think Duff mentions it in his autobiography. Slash's snakepit also did a similar song called "beggars and hangers on".

Just occurred to me you haven’t done Don’t Cry, is that right? That’s a broody ballad with high vocals in the chorus, and a searing solo as usual. Hard to pick a fave solo, but that one stands out because it’s more understated yet so perfect for the song. I love that they all serve the song!

This was a song was recorded for Chinese Democracy. They re-recorded the Slash and Duffs parts and laid it over Axls vocals.

@@DHPREACTS Guns is the BEST rock group by far. You guys should check out Rocket Queen live in Tokyo, you won't be disappointed. I heard you ask about their time frame. Guns released Appetite in 87 and the height of their career was 92. Nirvana and the Seattle sound busted on the scene and change music forever in 93. I think Guns would have stayed relevant but there was so much inner turmoil that they destroyed themselves

The song was written as a joke when nothing was easy for them at all. I love that you caught that line, “but nothing seems to please me.” Some pretty nasty lyrics in this song, but plenty else to appreciate. Like you said, no one-trick-pony.

Yes! Axl leaves out the f-bombs from “You’re Crazy” b/c tv. But sooo dang groovy and fun!

Good to see some people waking up to great music. You'll never find a bad tune by GNR, no filler band. Back in the day, country and rock had a very different audience. However, after tech completely destroyed music and musicians playing instruments. Its now rock/country......etc versus tech crap.
