Do you have issues with the stock tires hitting the front leaf springs at full lock? Mine were rubbing considerably, so I rebuilt the wheels the opposite way to move the tires farther out, and I still have rubbing issues. I appreciate the step by step build! I followed your videos in several parts of my own Series III build, so I'm fairly sure that I built it correctly.
@RevolutionX26 күн бұрын
I actually don't have the issue, because I set up my radio endpoints and also adjusted those screws that prevent your steering from going too far. They're like steering stops. It's those screws on the axle that stick out towards the front. If you adjust them correctly the steering knuckle will be prevented from further turning when it hits those screws.

Awesome!!! How do you know you don't need body post mounts on rear? Is that an optional thing to add? I'll be getting the element ecto..and wanted to know ow if the rear shock towers need mounts or we can just add the shock towers on rear?😢😮😮
@RevolutionX26 күн бұрын
Whether or not you need body post mounts on the rear is entirely dependent on your build. For this build, I ran a custom 3D printed truck bed that I designed in the rear so it was a cab only body mounting. If you're running an ecto body, you will need to either add those body post mounts to the Rock Pirate shock towers, or you will need to use the body post pegs that come with the Ecto on the rear bumper mount.

Can't believe there's no dust cover for the spur/pinion gears!? I just acquired one of these, with the earlier body. It was a shelf queen in a model shop for a few years, so the chassis is spotlessly clean. I will drive it tomorrow, so we'll see how the spur gear holds up. Wish me luck! 😁
@RevolutionX2 ай бұрын
Yeah the RC4WD rigs don't come with a dust cover. Honestly, it's been fine though and hasn't been a problem. It does also keep the transmission a little quieter without the dust cover echoing the spur/pinion. The only thing I would say is make sure you put thread lock on the screws for the spur gear! Those screws like to back out if you don't put thread lock on them.
