Does this brand have good water control? A lot of water brushes leak out too much water while you're painting. I've heard that ones with a rigid barrel don't have this problem.
@Foxsy_Official2 ай бұрын
@irene1234 this brand does pretty dang good! The only caveat is the smallest brush. For two different sets, the smallest brush is a little leaky while you're using it.

Where do you keep your morning pages? I started this morning. It was very negative, and I feel really guilty and shifty about it never being read? I haven't told anyone I'm doing it. I can't think of a good hiding place. I have already started without a lock, not buying a new book now. I will definitely be in full chicken scratch mode at least
@Foxsy_Official2 ай бұрын
My first several weeks & months of morning pages were quite negative -- that's normal! You gotta get some of the built up junk out of your system before you can move past it. I keep my journals just on the shelf at home, but I feel 100% confident that my partner won't read them. However, I will almost certainly put them in storage or in a locked cabinet in the future when we eventually have kids old enough to get into them (way down the line). Go full chicken scratch for sure! You could also hide the journals behind other books on a shelf, or put them in a shoebox that you label prominently with something boring, like "old tax forms". Keep pushing through the negative and try not to feel guilty! This is a vital part of the process, so keep going!

Thank you so much for your great explanation 🙏 I just started learning to paint and this was one thing that I was wondering about. I also wonder if you can mix dry palet paint with tube paint to create new colors or you have to stick with dry with dry and tube with tube 😊 These kind of videos is what beginners need, I never expected so many questions would arise when you start 😂

Love the work... I mainly work with imaginary human potraits & am pretty known among my my classmates as the guy who draws... recently i thought of shifting, changing style, studying successful artist's works. So I started experimentally try sketching cartoons, comics and caricatures... Know what, my classmates said that my artistic aesthetic has degraded and i am making the worst things i have made till now... But i know myself that sometimes to progress we have to do simple things & have fun😊
@Foxsy_Official6 ай бұрын
It sucks that they're saying that, but you are spot on. Evolution takes us down unknown paths, and sometimes it won't be to everyone's taste. But at the end of the day, you're plumbing the depths of your own artistic well, not making things for others to consume. Keep digging - you'll find something incredible.

It's kind of like dismantling the mentality that hyper capitalism insists is the only way: Growth always, line goes up, each thing must eclipse the last thing,, innovation at all costs even security... maybe I'm making the analogy too big. But it is a systemic way of thinking that can fractal and it's good to break out of it, to see where you've just accepted that reality and question why? Thanks! That's actually helped me. Also I really like the picture!
@Foxsy_Official6 ай бұрын
It's so important to talk about these things, because success looks so linear when you see other people do it! I'm so glad this pondering offered a bit of help ❤

Thank you for the video Shelby! Lack of consistency, is something I struggle with quite frequently as I am trying to get a creative business going. It is that lack of consistency that is the demon I face on a daily basis as I try to figure things out from what products to put my artwork on to newsletters to social media to whether to sell from my home or on an online platform. Staying consistent with working on one or more of these a day is incredibly challenging and at times I've considered giving it up. However, I have chosen 'Simplicity' as my 2024 word and I'm working on reminding myself of that each day I step into my studio. When things begin to overwhelm, I get up and take a break. So at least in that case, I'm becoming more consistent. I wish you well on this journey with consistency. I believe you will find what works for you. Love your art piece in this video!😊

Embrace change at any age. Yes, habits are what brought me to this point. Those habits served me well in the past. The landscape has shifted therefore, habits must change to embrace the change. Day by day unfolding through my art. All is good. Thank you for the venue that supports this change. Much appreciated.

Every time I feel like I have a handle on things, life changes, I change, and I have to readjust. Life doesn't stand still for us, and in order to grow, we have to roll with the punches. I know this logically, but golly do I get walloped a few times before I adjust!
