In 'Charlie's Angels' Season 5 episode 'Waikiki Beach', the Angels became lifeguards to help catching their baddie of the week. They wore red swimsuits and rode in yellow jeep just like the 'Baywatch' lifeguards did. I've never seen Gilligan's Island. Nor really wanted to. But I really enjoy this one. It's a love or hate episode. But it's made with such care and attention and obvious love for the source material that I had a lot of fun watching it. It does allow the cast to stretch themselves a bit. Monte Markham is really good at the comedy. Interesting to see the attitudes of the guest stars. Bob Denver clearly wants it over with as quickly as possible. Whereas Dawn Wells is having the time of her life. David Hasselhoff took himself rather seriously in those days, so that's probably why he's sidelined as he doubtless didn't want to be involved with this. And this episode is way better than the Charlie's Angels homage in season six. We'll get to that one day. Surprised to see this down as episode 13. As on the dvd it's episode sixteen. If you put it at this point in the running order then Harvey and Capt Thorpe disappear for a lot less time than otherwise.

Handy someone left that big plastic deus ex machina on the beach, isn't it? I notice the running time of this one is shorter than most. The remastered versions have made some cuts usually due to music rights. This must be one such.

It's great Baywatch highlighted the frequent and common place problem of bulls been loose on the beach that California had in the 90s. Without this show that problem could still exist to this day.
