@11:51 can someone tell me what voices means?.. Because I thought it meant octaves. But I heard the snow and it sounds rich and very full!.. Or why would less voices not be as good??.. The snow is old but doesn't sound outdated or thin to me.

How do you see the virus C in terms of trance music production...? Can one fancy it over the ti and TI2...? I am looking forward to get 2 hardware synths I have decided to get a Yamaha an1x on the cheaper side and nord lead a1 on the high end side.... I am caught up in a little confusion... Between these Yamaha An1x, nord lead 2x,jp 8000, and virus C which is better for trance in you opinion? Now moving onto the expensive ones.. NORD lead 4,NORD LEAD A1, ROLAND SYSTEM 8 THESE ARE MY ALTERNATIVES AS VIRUS HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED AND PRICED THRICE IT'S ACTUAL PRICE... ?
@willswitchcraft2 күн бұрын
I haven't used a Virus C, so I'm not going to be much help. I loved my Nord Lead, but it has a very intense sound, really cuts....very different from the sound of an An1X from what I understand. It's a tough call. It really depends on the kind of music you work on, and what features/work flow suit your creative process......Sorry that I can't be more help......thousands of videos on YT to help you decide what is going to work for you......If you live in a major centre, you should consider renting a couple of synths for a month. If you're not blown away, rent 2 other ones the next month until you find 2 that inspire you, and that work well together

Watched many of your videos, still the best info on Access, I dont own any virus, but if i had one pick one hardware synth this would be it, , if its software it has to be Omnishpere , if i had both i would be a happy man.

Check out the free dsp56300 emulator. It runs on Windows, MacOS and Linux and will run the Virus A, B, C and TI firmware. The latest $139 NUC mini PCs with an onboard Intel N100 has enough compute power to easily run 4 Virus TIs in parallel. A lot more if they are Virus Cs, Bs or As.

Yours were among the videos that helped push me into taking the plunge for a Virus TI2 a couple weeks ago. Absolutely thrilled with it so far. It has so much character that's lacking in many modern digital synths. The effects are also in a league above most of the other HW in my collection (Deluge/Hydrasynth's FX sound a bit sterile in comparison - though they make up for it in other ways)
@willswitchcraftАй бұрын
So glad to hear that you're excited by your new tool..................BTW - if you're not up to date with the Deluge Community Software, the effects are finally getting better on that box, not like the Virus, but there are real improvements......
@jamesstonehouse3448Ай бұрын
Ive had my Deluge since 2019, and it just keeps growing in capability. I love multisample instruments on it, as well as sound design and sequencing. It still feels like i barely use anywhere near its full potential

Virus synths have a distinctive sound but the polyphony can't be a selling point. 90 voices is not much these days. My Montage has 128 voices for it's fantastic fm synth and 128 more for the sample sounds.
@willswitchcraftАй бұрын
Agreed, but my point about the voices, was more the fact that they can be used to play 16 different parts at once. I know there are still other 'workstations' out there, but most of them are very limited as synthesizers, for programming with 'Knob pre function' panels, etc. thanks for weighing in..............

Will, perhaps you can help me out here please.... Access Virus C, Single sound, transmitting PC's to the Virus either from MC-707 or Ableton/MOTU result in missed notes at start of 16 step sequence. It's almost as if the note starts on step one for a few milliseconds, cuts off then plays again. Short bass notes will miss 2 steps on average 1st time round and pads consistently miss 16 steps initially. Disabling / removing PC from Ableton / 707 and the Virus is rock solid. No problems at all with any patches Known issue Will or not? I'm tearing my hair out here and I haven't got much to start with! Have filtered out all non essential MIDI information from the data stream but no joy.
@willswitchcraftАй бұрын
No idea....my suggestion would be to post your problem on the Access Virus Users Forum. There seems to be lots of people there to share knowledge and assist................best of luck
