Alcoholics Anonymous is having their international convention in Vancouver in July 2025. Expecting 60K ppl from around the world w histories of alcohol & other drug use. I wonder how many thousands will be denied entry into Canada because of draconian laws? Imagine if a border cop asks have you ever used drugs or been arrested for a DUI & if a yes response, they’ll be turned away & they would lose all their hotel reservations & convention fees. I wonder who in Alcoholics Anonymous made the stupid decision to hold their major convention in a country that doesn’t believe that recovery from addiction is possible & despite turning your life around, Canada holds your past against you forever. AA members from California shouldn’t go to the convention because, as the woman border officer said, they target people from California because they’re “probably” smuggling drugs.
