You mean the threshold setting? Don't set it too high, it will cut your sustain, even your tone. Set it too low won't enough to cut the unwanted noise, you need to find the sweet spot

i have a weird problem hope you have a suggestion > My tube amp is super quiet when i go direct into it, when i put in the cable from the pedal board WITHOUT any pedals turned On , i am getting very loud noise/hum...without any volume on also from pedal.. ?? don't get it .. Help ???

I find it strange how it cuts noise from BEFORE the DS1. I don't get these bypass type NG pedals, I'm used to those with send and return which encapsulate the pedal train that you are suppressing.

In my case, probably caused by Bad Earth Ground installation at my home. Usually when I play at my parents house, using the same guitar, cable, amps and pedals, the noise wasn't that loud

question: if you use a noise gate will your compressor pedal in your board lose its sustain or its compression?

Only if the gate is set too high I use a compressor in my noise gate loop and it works fine as long as you listen to the note cutoff and ajust accordingly.

I bought LEKATO 20w rechargeable amp speaker ( available on amazon for £63), it has 3 output holes to attache any pedals to power the pedals, so you can take it anywhere and not worry about powering the pedals. My problem was taking 9v batteries to power the pedals or taking a power bank with all the cables to power the pedals, its sorted and the battery of speaker lasts long. My actual problem is learning how to minimise noise but still be able to listen to the voices.

Kalo cuma utk ngurangin noise, oke. Kalo bener2 sebagai noise killer dan main musik2 yg perlu high gain, saya kurang rekomen. Rekomendasi tetep Boss NS-2 yang punya send-return atau kalo single knob, ISP noise decimator. Kalo harga yg lebih murah ada behringer NR-300

For those of you who could not power the guitar pedals using "5 to 9v dc step up converter cable" or using "9v battery connectors male dc" the reason is that the these pedals are centre negative you see the + sign and printed on the pedals. Normal cables current is - sign and I ended up buying wrong 5v to 9v step up converter cable. You actually need to type "5V USB to DC 9V Power Cable Guitar Effects Pedal Power Supply USB Cable" and same for 9v battery connectors you search "Effect Pedal Battery Clip 9V For Guitar Power Cable Battery Male Connector" So you must type "guitar pedal effect" because these cables are different

Hi, in this video i was using Zoom's AD-16E adapter (9V 500 mA). The pedal only need 9V 26 mA, so it's safe if you want to use 9V 100 mA

I did, and it cut my sustain. So, in this case I prefer to put in before distortion :)

I set the threshold to get clean noise, cutting off the sustain. When I adjust the threshold so that the sustain isn't cut, there is still noise that I don't want. When i tried the idea to put it before distortion, it suits my needs. By the way, thanks for your feedback, and have a nice day for you too!

For 8 bucks more you could have gotten a behringer noise reducer that has a knob to adjust how much noise cut and how much natural sound you not to cut. So you will be able to find a sweet spot with some echo left over.

Lebih baik sebelum distorsi, karena nanti sinyal yg masuk ke pedal udah lebih bersih. Kalo setelah distorsi, noise dari gitar dan kabel akan ikut jadi gede karena masuk ke pedal distorsi, sehingga perlu threshold yg lebih tinggi utk cut noisenya. Threshold tinggi akan memotong sustain, jadi suara gitar kaya tumpul

I love and hate this ds1X great punchy distorsion but to much noise from this pedal my ds1 and ds2 don’t do this amount of back noise

its probably just either the guitar making more noise than your's, the amp making more noise than your's, or the DS1X has more distortion than a DS1 or a DS2 thus creating more noise, or "black noise" as you call is (its white noise'

You can use it on electric guitar, but you won't get a proper sound with this. You can see the frequencies which are boosted with this BEQ700 are low freqs and 2 bands of highs, which are the frequencies where the sound of bass lives. Whereas guitar frequencies live on middle range. It's better to use the EQ700 which has more middle frequencies to boost your guitar tone
