Excellent! Gillan was on, at this show. He was certainly cleaner than the Oxford-Poly show, not too long before this one. Torme vs Gers? Both were quite fine, really. IG needed to rest his voice, later in the year, but joined Sabbath, instead. Not a good choice and it also created a rift between him and the band. Either way, they put on a great show.

after they played southampton Gaumont theatre the previous year to this with Berni Torme on guitar, 2 of my chums were in the bar after the show & either Colin Townes or Mick Underwood or both were having a drink & my chum had introduced himself being the confident 17 yr old that he was & to his amazement he reckoned the guys were sound as a pound & enjoyed drinking a couple with the local nippers whom had been part of the crowd. No pretensions whatsoever when it would’ve been easy to exclude themselves or act like Led Zeppelin or Ritchie considering they were part of a big rock stars’ band.

Not seen this footage before so it's great to view. I did not swee this incarnation of the band but the one with Mr Torme and in and they were superb. Sadly we lost Mick Underwood this year. What a stunning drummer he was. That mega sized Premier kit was the business to put it mildly.

in 2013, i watched that Episode for the first time, and when That Scene was on Screen, yeah, My Eyes Shined, i went to the laundry room to wet my eyes; and... They don't fool me: it was all planned by the animation studio and "TV Tokyo" themselves. No pre-recorded TV program goes on air without having been reviewed by the authorities.

I have epilepsy. Do to trauma to the head. Flashing lights for me. If there very fast it don’t take long to have a seizure. Also if there bright. It’s definitely gonna trigger. If you dim down the lights. It should be ok. I can handle flashing in the day as long as it don’t last long. Or once it bothers me I look away just for a bit

He totally had his voice. Jon Lord said in 1973 when Gillan left that they had at least 10 years left of mark II excellence in fact they had 19 or more. Biggest regret in rock history is break-up of Deep Purple Mark II. But they got together and are touring the year Trump regains the United States Presidency!! Much to be happy about.

In 1981 I discovered Gillan and Rainbow. And then it took about two years before saw the connection. 1968 was a good year ro be born. Thanks for the music.
