Usually i like to ski here from 4-7ish pm. With the season pass its always a great time and usually not terribly busy, especially during the midweek

Any tips for being nervous to go down any of these black runs? I’ve been skiing for 3 years but does it look worse than what it is?
@lifeofgjdАй бұрын
@ReidDaggett if you know how to go down by turning left and right (zig zagging, not pizza style) you'll be totally fine. It does look worse than what it is but it can be tricky if you're a beginner who isn't confident in turning suddenly and changing direction. The trick to easier turning/ changing ski direction is lifting your leg in the direction your going ever so slightly. That will make help you making faster interchangeable turns. For example, if you want to go left, slightly lift your left leg. Your weight will automatically switch to your right leg and that will trigger your left hand turn. You don't need to lift it completely off the ground, just 1/4 inch will do. Hope that helps. Safe skiing!

@ thank you so much! I can definitely zig zag but I’m not sure if I would have the control. Looks like I will just have to try it out.

Night is usually the only time I visit GP. Less crowds, reliable light, and the price is reasonable. Since I have an Indy Pass, I hit 2x per season during the daylight -- but only midweek.

Hey my friends! It’s been way too long! This video is incredible-Alaska looks stunning, but it definitely looks cold out there! I’ve been living in the South the last few years, so I’ve totally forgotten what cold even feels like, haha. Hope everything’s good with you guys. We gotta catch up soon!

@@lifeofgjd Haha, you’re probably right-I might miss the chill just a little bit! But these southern temps have me spoiled. We definitely need to catch up soon, maybe somewhere with a nice breeze so I don’t totally forget the cold! :D

Thanks for this. I grew up skiing the west and east. In recent years, I have learned to enjoy the Midwest. The biggest difference, to me, is that any black run in the west or east will have either big moguls, a narrow chute, tight trees, or a cliff. These runs are easy blue to green. Let the moguls grow.

Congratulations! You just finished to do the most touristy things on Maui. And flew drone where no drones are allowed.
@lifeofgjd Жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for your input. Next time we'll consult with a native like yourself to do things that are off the beaten path. Also, the drone footage is stock videos but as an expert in all fields I'm sure you knew that as well. I just love it when people come to uneducated conclusions about stuff. Anyway, have a great day!

It's very expensive to go there. It's ok to visit but I lived there, went to Kapaa high. It's really a terrible place . They absolutely hate white people, they hate America and being a state. . The natives are extremely violent . There is nothing to do if you don't surf or fight. I was so happy to have escaped. I wouldn't go back if someone paid me. The police and government corruption is mind blowing. Look what they did on Maui.

So, the “expert” designation is for double black diamond runs. The single black diamonds in this video are designated as “advanced” runs. This is an important distinction.

How did you get it to not bark at you for not having your hands on the steering wheel?
