Oh wow! Now I really need to get "Vampiros of El Norte". Thank you for reminding me!! I do historical re-enactment of the Mexican-American War out here in California and I've learned from a few curanderas in my lifetime. :) What a great book to add to my library. Thanks again!!! And Fablen is soooooo much fun! (D&D player as well. lol) Thanks again to you and the guildmasters for all their hard work.

I ate up all the Goosebumps books as a kid. I would read them as quick as I got them. My parents even got me a scholastic subscription where they would deliver them in the mail each month to me. 🤣 They were the foundation to my love of reading.

The show is absolutely not for a more grown up audience than the books. The books take their audience seriously, and introduces a lot of adult themes and ideas (along with some really goofy ideas but you take the good with the bad) while the show hardly lets Rachel and Cassie be in the same room with each other...

Whoa, it's just an opinion based on my observations of the casting and character choices. Struck me as a very 90s CW teen show. Those tend to be aimed at older audiences and that doesn't negate the fact that the books take their audience much more seriously. I state as much a little later when I'm talking about the way Applegate introduces the concepts of the series and the way she explores the kids' motivations. The show is clearly trying to make a quick buck vs the books actually trying to make content for kids.
