Hi, is there supposed to be an O-ring under the outer dust cap? If so, do you recall what's the size of it?
@dstructo11 ай бұрын
Yes, there is. I THINK it's 1-25/32". I used a new rotor and new dust cap, so I'm not too concerned with the o-ring. The fit on new parts is super tight.
@taipeiracer11 ай бұрын
@@dstructo Thanks. May I ask if the O-ring is fitted around the perimeter of the dust cap, or does it sit at the bottom edge where it meets the washer?
@todds761411 ай бұрын
yes there is an o ring just measure the outside of the cap

thank you , I'm restoring a 77 hornet amx . I took the front suspention apart over a year ago and am having trouble remembering how to put it back together .

Any tips on where to set the torque rods? Where do you measure from to make sure they are set correctly?
@willieshaw252211 ай бұрын
Those are used to set caster during the alignment - that changes car-to-car and there is no specific setting for them.

Hey this was great, very well done step by step, very organized. I have a 75 Bricklin which has this front end. This will help me a lot when it goes back together.

Thanks Paul! This video is just what I needed. Restoring a '74 AMX, took lots of pics during disassembly-but needed this video to give me confidence to put the suspension back together correctly.

I use KZbin as a reference all the time - noticed there wasn't much out there on AMC suspension stuff, so I thought I'd video mine. Glad you could use it!

at 28:40 that's good for this but.But for the other nut,no fucking Room !!!!👎💥👿
@jackcook67352 жыл бұрын
The spring compressor makes that job completely safe. THANKS ! I like the little bearing on top. It Converts static friction to hydraulic friction, making that nut much easier to turn. And that spring can’t escape and hurt you ! It is 100% than The kind that goes on the outside of the spring.
@dstructo2 жыл бұрын
Super impressive design for sure. If you've ever had a spring escape, you won't ever want it to happen again!

Sting should have said that McEnroe asking about his wife crossed the line. And Mac would reply “that was on the line! Chalk flew up. Everybody in the audience saw it except you. Explain that!”
