Any pool hall where they wait around all month looking for the way best of it, is not worthy of even being called a pool hall.. Come down South, you can get played..

America’s most famous pool hall, huh?.. Yet, they wouldn’t bet fatback is greasy.. lol.. Yeah, a bunch of dudes talking about how great they are doesn’t make a pool hall.. Slick Willie’s on Westheimer, in Houston, was a real pool hall..

Too bad you didn't have a good pool player in the background in the second half of this. Otherwise, terrific interview!

We have a club like this in Billings, MT. Brothers Billiards which has been open for about 6 years now. It's an absolute fantastic place and the "private club" aspect really works well. Provides a fantastic atmosphere

I didn't realize that they moved from Amsterdam Ave. I went to Corner Billiards because I lived 2 blocks away.

U can think about him how ever you want, Yes he has a big Mouth Can quite go in to trash talking something but damm this guy is a BEAST on the Table like no one ever else in the US As a teacher he is better then Efren cause But by talent Efren will not be beaten anytime soon.

Wow, a pool hall that really cares about the game and about the players, need more places like this. Respect from the Netherlands. Here we have a few places like Padoc in Woerden and The Wizards in Lelystad which are similar (and I'm sure there are more), but so many places just don't give a fk other than trying to maximise profit on often terrible tables.
@AlexZander68827 күн бұрын
Earl's not misunderstood. He's an all-time great pool player. ...But he is also an all-time whiner, griper and mega excuse maker. His antics at the table got old a long time ago.

Earl is one of a kind. I have an Earl story. Many years ago, at the Cue Club in Las Vegas. I told Earl that 2 friends of mine did the drill where you start with a ball on the spot and you shoot it into the corner pocket and draw back and the goal is to do it 7 times. They both did it the first time!!! (try it and you probably won't run 3). Well, he didn't do it the first time and that fired him up. Typical Earl after a couple of failed attempts he did it 11 times. Remember you must re-spot a ball and shot from where the cue stops.

In his prime Earl Strickland was unstoppable. He has won a total of six U.S. Open 9-ball titles and three World 9-ball Champion. I don’t think anyone dominated 9-ball like Earl did during his era. Remember, a 55 year old Earl beat Shane in his prime.

What's even more crazy is it looks like he did this on a valley table. Not a diamond or Brunswick with brand new cloth, a pool table that you'd find in some hole in the wall bar somewhere.

Minnesota Fats and EARL STRICKLAND were the only Superstars of my Era. They'll never never be a more exciting game than 9-ball in the 90,s. Reason I started playing was I might run the set out on a stone cold champion.

The shot is very hard because the energy goes to object ball. Hit the ball hard and the ball does not roll just skids must be practiced with a very good stroke

Please do a video about "why do most billiard halls in the US do so poorly compared to other countries such as Vietnam, Philippines?". "What could the US do to become better? "Why is the US lacking billiard academies like Europe or China? If you look at other countries, billiard halls are in high quantities and provide great quality of equipment. I can't speak for every US state, but from what I have seen, it seems like more often than not, one has to travel out of their way to get to a "restaurant/pool hall", which has high rates and crappy equipments, in order to shoot some pool. I would love to see a video where you guys talk to industry leaders from the US and outside of the US and hear what they have to say regarding how the US can exploit this sport and make it more accessible and raise the bar.

They stopped playing 14.1 because it wasn't working out on TV. Fans don't want to sit and watch one guy run 150 balls. Very boring. They like 9 ball because it's fast paced and lots of back and forth safety shots.
