Please do your research before moving to Moncton for job opportunities - good jobs are scarce and the competition is fierce - you will also struggle if you are not bilingual. On paper it looks good, in reality it's a tough job market. Obviously it will depend a bit on what you want to do and where in the city you live, but I would say it's a must to be bilingual in Moncton if you are competing on the open market for a good job.

This myth « a must to be bilingual » to get a good job has never been true , is not true and will never be true. I have lived here all my life , am impeccably bilingual and have always known that most Monctonians work and live in English all day , every day of the year. The best private sector management jobs require no bilingualism… the best public sector jobs require no bilingualism if you’re not dealing directly with the public. If and when you hear French being spoken it is generally between a French speaking staff member and a French speaking customer. Most of the posh residential areas are inhabited by unilingual anglophones who’ve never spoken a word of French in their lives. A lot of complaints about language are from folks who are either unqualified or straight up unsuitable because of “deal breaking” character flaws. You can’t fool me. Not true.

Wages are low here in new brunswick, taxes are high 15% , Healthcare, hospitals wait times, most people have been waiting 5+ years for a family doctor, and houses are now way over priced Do your homework before deciding to make the move to new brunswick Most retail places don't even pay $15 an hour

In Quebec City. Prefer to live in English Canada but afraid that I as a shit-for-brains autistic, can't afford to. I did hear the rent went up 65% in on yr. Quebec can't increase the rent more than 5-7% per yr.

Hello, Jennifer! Newcomer here looking to move from Edmonton to Moncton next year! How is the life sciences and research jobs in the area? I'm a laboratory technician and my husband has IT experience. We're being moved by real estate prices and a slower pace of life, but we're kind afraid of struggling to find jobs in those 2 areas.

I was born in the old Saint John General Hospital, but never liked SJ; so glad we moved back to BC. It took living in NB three years to realize that we took BC for granted.

Things you should know before you move here! 1. Higher taxes 2. You will not have a doctor. In a year or so you might get a practitioner but its very hard to get an appointment also its a 3 year wait for a dermatologist. Health care sucks!!!!! 3.kids start school at age 5 and end at 1:30 until grade 3!!! Day care good luck waiting list. No catholic schools. Just public or private. 4.whatever you make in Ontario expect to make half. 5.water bottle tax 6.french english war. If you don't speak french and move to a french area no one will talk to you! 7.no daycare at gyms 8.lack of culture and cuisine 9.1 mall in the greater moncton 10.everything for kids sports is a waiting list for example swimming lessons 11.no indoor skating arena Lots more if you come here then it should be to be mortgage free otherwise don't waste your time. If I didn't have kids I wouldn't regret it as much but I do. Know all the facts before you move here the good the bad and the ugly

I wouldn't know the ins and outs of a work visa, I have heard it's not easy and additional courses are needed - Canada as a whole makes working in your profession difficult

Very informative video. We were thinking of moving to Fredericton from Ontario, but I’m not sure what the nightlife is like in Fredericton. Not partying until 3 am, but dinner, drinks and catching a band at a local pub is definitely in order.
