God Bless..! Thankyou soooo much! However, how much salt should be put in?
@DavidAunkst4 ай бұрын
You are using the wrong product. Use Calcium Chloride not Sodium Chloride. Calcium Chloride is a common de-icer used on roads and side walks. And, its cheap as chips. 50 lbs. in the US is about $30.00. Of course you usually need to live in the snow belt to find it. Cheers.

I bought one three weeks ago and put it by a cold window that gets condensation. So far its collected absolutely nothing. I also have a pot with just plain salt that collects moisture very well.

This is a realy good hack. I was just wondering dooes thr coolour lift off if you wipe it or rub the wall with your clothing?. 😊
@chrissy212e Жыл бұрын
Very good tip. I just just bought one of these pots yesterday for the first time. Last year, I just used a plastic container with salt in by my kitchen window, which is very good at absorbing moisture. The only thing is the salt gets damp pretty quick, so it might not work as long as the crystals.😊

Thank you for making this video Gobberella. It is a lifesaver!. By the way, as a Yank, I think your accent is a lot easier to understand to me than other British accents I have heard. I hope all is well with you and your children. Take care.😊

Just bought some of these from Yorkshire Trading Company for £1 each. It's good to see that the price hasn't gone crazy like everything else. I was just trying to check that you don't remove the paper, which your video has confirmed. So thank you! I threw the instructions away too quickly 😆

Very cool! Thank you! Mum on a budget here (from north Florida, USA). I love ur accent, btw. I found these damp traps for $1.25 at the Dollar Tree store here. But this will still save me a lot of money in the long run . Going to go buy a couple more today & some 🧂 . ✌️

*IF you add a few grains of uncooked rice it will stop the salt becoming hard too quickly, as loose salt is best for drawing out the moisture in the air and it basically means more moisture and less changing the salt, it does work with or without the rice though*

Congrats for trying - would much rather use salt or calcium chloride (same as Damp Rid, thanks below). Great to know I can re -use it! 1) What’s the 3rd container for? Is the first one the finished outcome or what you start out with when you buy it new? 2) I didn’t really get the last bit 3) What do you do with the damp salt (dry out and use next time? Presumably not on food?)

What I started doing is putting a foil container with salt on the window don't have kids u will see the salt harden the grab the moisture it's cheap and better than paying every £1 goes a long way when it's half that fir the table salt 🧂 tnx 🥰

Pour the liquid on weeds in sidewalks in warm months to kill them. Sprinkle liquid on sidewalks before snow storms in winter as ice preventer, salt in the water so it wont freeze. Caution salt water is corrosive to metal and degrades surface of concrete over time.

Great idea. I always wondered about this. These go for $5 each normally here in the US, except for Dollar Tree which sells them for… $1. Lol. They do fill up fast but also, I always feel crummy using up & throwing away all that plastic 👎 I know it’s an old video, but glad someone showed how to reuse these! Less waste, saves money, excellent.

Sorry, I'm late to this fix: how dyou drain the original converted liquid out, also if re re reusing same question so as not to foul things up for a fresh infill of salt and to ensure any refill doesn't go straight to the collecting area ? Thanks.
