I was learning how to use 3DsMax during college, and I was a huge Stargate fan. I wanted to try a gate that felt almost arcane, something new and mysterious, because my favourite thing about the Stargates was the mystery surrounding them

@@alexmccune2162 that's a great question! I didn't give that much thought when I was making this, but it would make sense that there would be some way for this gate to dial into the others

yeah this makes no sense. 4 rings, 9 chevrons, the locking has nothing to do with the symbols.

Nah. If the Goa'uld built a stargate the outer casing would be pure solid gold, it would have brazers for chevron lights and it would only be dialable by Goa'uld Ribbon Device. It would be gaudy and flashy and designed intentionally to look like powerful divine magic to primatives.

I like the idea of this dialing sequence visually, but since it could only dial a 4-chevron address from what I can tell, it would ultimately not be used.

the 150 symbols could make this gate dial any galaxy with all the galaxy gate symbols, milky-way peguasus, asguard and of course SGU symbols

But with only 8 chevrons, it can't dial gates by their static hard-coded addresses.

@@elijahdiltz1837 I mean, that's fine if you're just dialing a stationary gate with a known coordinate-based address. But if a gate is travelling at high speed or you only know its hard-coded address, you're kinda screwed. Technically, if you were to dial a 9-chevron address for a stargate within a few lightyears, you wouldn't need to use any more power to do so than you would if you used that gate's normal 7-chevron address. Energy requirements are determined by distance, not the number of chevrons.

Asuming it has 39 Glyph rings and that each chevron can choose any glyph from any ring (except those already selected of course) it would have up to 83823228720 7Cheffron Adresses compared to 60233040 on the milkyway and 38955840 on the pegasus and destiny and 55716821160 if it has 36 glyph rings

This gate is an awesome fanmade model of a Stargate, in some ways, we could guess its even more advanced than the most up to date models in the pegasus galaxy ( the blue ones with the digital rings and better dial). Our ones in the milkyway are older and spin an inner ring, the Stargates made by the seedships in SGU are obviously one of the first models to ever exist, they are very fragile (easily broken and the entire model spins unlike the newer models).

@NuclearMisfit The gate bridge works because each gate is at the edge of the range of the one before it. Basically a long daisy chain that forwards to the next in line. The rings on this Omni gate don't seem to be seperate gates, more like a different design choice for this particular type of gate like the Pegasus gates has the digital displays as opposed to the single spinning ring on the milkyway gates.
