I am still waiting for someone to focus on the western menu and wines. I am up to here on explaining the technology in detail, drinking a coke and eating Chinese food in first class.

In my experience the Asian food is the best choice on an Asian airline. Maybe for my next flight I’ll review the Western option and focus on the wine more (I’m not a big drinker!). Thanks for the feedback

S$300 cheaper to fly SIN-KUL but I don’t know if they serve a meal in that flight. Also same price to BKK as CGK and it’s a longer flight so maybe you should try that one next time on the A350!

I travelled BA business class for the first time in 2008. I'm surprised that they still have exactly the same layout now as they did then. I'd rather fly with an asian airline or Middle Eastern for a similar price but more privacy/comfort.
@EpicTravelJourneys10 күн бұрын
It really is bad to be operating a 2-4-2 layout in Business Class in 2025, very uncompetitive. I’d also rather fly an Asian or Middle Eastern airline for the same (or often cheaper!) price.

37:55 what location is this? I recently explored bustling Orchard Rd and the Christmas decorations. Christmas in the tropical heat is just not the same. I felt Christmas has a commercial feel and it does not resonate with the majority of locals who hold different beliefs. Christmas in Singapore is just another day with shops open -business as usual. The best Christmas experience will have to be in Europe, singing carols in town square in front of a live giant christmas tree and the weinnacht markt. Orchard rd and MRT stations and Takashimaya link seems like an ant colony, people everywhere. Thank you for showing Singapore around.

Thank you for being so honest. It is a well rounded review with pros and cons. "Not the nicest hotel and very expensive". You could not be any clearer. Guests who stay at MBS are pretentious. I'd rather take the ferry to Batam island, Indonesia and soak in the Singapore skyline, stay at a resort on Batam at a fraction of the price with delicious buffett included, and immerse in the local culture and daily lives. I can not justify paying exhobirant amounts for a bed, four walls a view and a sense of entitlement and pretentiousness. I heard the new glamping sites at Mandai near Singapore zoo is charging Sing$3000 a night. Singapore is catering to the ultra rich who live in a bubble of their own.

Is it a fair comparison? The London underground is 161 years old and almist constantly needs updating, covers more than twice the distance and has nearly double the number of stations and a million more journeys made per day, how can it possibly stand up to the modern infrastructure of Singapore's MRT, you could compare the newest stations and the newly opened Elizabeth line and possibly Jubilee line that opened only 20 years before MRT, but take into account it serves much older stations, or compare only Elizabeth line, H&C, Metropolitan, Circle and District line trains.
@EpicTravelJourneys5 ай бұрын
Valid points, you’re not wrong, but do note I never claimed it was a “like for like” comparison. Just wanted to make a short to compare the two and point out the good and bad of both. London’s age is undeniably a negative point for it whereas Singapore’s hard seats and extremely strict rules on eating and drinking are negative points for me. My goal wasn’t to be “fair” but rather to reflect the facts of the two systems 🙂

I think Singapore hands down wins in terms of aesthetics, modernity, and cleanliness while London wins in terms of efficiency and practicality. Although London's deep tube carriages are narrow, the trains are way longer than most trains in sg and are typically more frequent. The sub-surface trains are around the same width as Singaporean trains tho. I have to admit that Singapore’s mrt architecture is absolutely stunning compared to London's comparatively ancient stations.
@EpicTravelJourneys6 ай бұрын
Great comment - I largely agree with you but one thing I wasn’t sure on was the frequency part. I didn’t do too much of an analysis on this but from observation Singapore’s trains seem to be every 2-6 minutes depending on time of day and station and London appeared to be roughly the same?
@face_thereality6 ай бұрын
@@EpicTravelJourneys In the core section of London during peak times, most lines have a stable frequency of 30tph (every 2 mins) while the Victoria line in fact has 36 tph (every 100 seconds). There's a nice video on youtube which showcases just how frequent that is - I recommend you watch that. The piccadilly and bakerloo lines have a lower frequency at around every 140 - 180 seconds due to the absence of ATO in the core section. However out in the suburbs the lines branch out and result in a much lower frequency on branches, so its quite hit or miss with London while in sg its generally consistent. Both cities have excellent frequencies nonetheless
