I am 49 years old and have had the privilege of going to the Patton Museum twice in my life. The first time was when I was a young kid, probably somewhere around the age of 14-15 and the second time was somewhere in my early 20s. And it was in deed a privilege to go to the Patton museum. The Patton Museum is one of the finest museums of any kind I have ever been too and I can't imagine a better museum of any kind anywhere else. It is truly worth the visit, especially for a history nerd such as myself.

I have accumulated 7 books about Patton, including "Fighting Patton---George S. Patton Jr. through the eyes of his enemies." A fascinating man from a very "different" family. Carlo D'Este's biography is, in my opinion, better than the Ladislas Farrago book that the movie was made from. He was in some ways a great general, but he made his share of mistakes.

Patton was eliminated, he was a Thorn in the side of Truman a none military man , and Patton being a very verbal soldier ,would have stirred the 💩 after the war with criticism’s of politicians etc ! Let’s be honest 99.9 % of people would have survived the accident especially at the speed they were travelling at ! I could be totally wrong, but after Kennedy , the lies of Vietnam , Bobby Kennedy, Martin Luther King , etc etc I don’t have much faith in what the people at the top ,tell me !

Truman was an artillery officer in WW1. What are you talking about?
@Elmer-hf1je2 ай бұрын
When a lot of ex military personnel leave the service, some become politicians and can easily fall into “ The Club “ mentality, keep your nose clean and you can do well ,with all the financial rewards that will come your way. This is why Trump doesn’t fit in , because he wants to rock the boat ,and all those with cushy jobs don’t like him because of that ! Example what has Biden achieved for the American people in 50 years of being in congress, sweet FA , the cost of living through the roof ! What I was getting at , that Patton was a loose cannon and they and the powers that be would rather do without him , hence the parallel with Trump! This is all I have to say on the matter , you believe what you want to , that is what freedom of speech is all about , my thoughts are the other way! Stay happy and healthy , bye!

Russia? Go back and read history. Germany was defeated by the Allied nations which the US supplied most of the logistical support, men, and equipment. Russia wasn't even a country in 1945. Maybe you meant to say the Soviet Union but that would have been just as wrong.

Stalin admitted with out the help of America they would not have made it. He also said the German soldier one on one was a far better soldier than the Russian, check your history it came from Stalin himself.

I would like to let the General know that someone could be impersonating him as I write this. He states he is in Iraq and due to retire in a few months. He says he is a widower for three years and has one day who is 21. He states her name is Laura. Is there anyway to get a message to the real John R Evans ? Please tell him. I have a number on what’s up who is messaging me.

I went thru OSUT at Ft Knox...this brings back so many memories and a few tears. I remember when we had respect for Old Glory...We all did the same in West Germany also...this process follows you even into my '60s...Always respect for the colors, their meaning and why we do it. It kills me to see the infiltration of communism and fascism instructed in Schools across the country and burning of Old Glory in the streets...They know not what they do.

Colors is sacred. Honoring Freedom and the sacrifice of life. First thing in the morning and when the day is done. A tradition that extends back for centuries. Everyone is involved with colors if under open skies. Moving vehicles are suppose to pull over if they figure out its happening. Thats how i remember it in the Navy. Any base, any ship.

I can’t believe I’m finally moving. I spent three years at Knox and two months in hospital due to cat fish buffet at Sam Adams. No, it wasn’t the food. Although once I was sick from moldy black eyed peas serve on new years. No I was horrifically burned by a heating element on the catfish buffet. I was pulling out a tray of catfish that had congealed after liquifying in its own grease. The fish had to be rinsed and refried. Well, when I pick it up, the assistant manager Ben poured all the water from the turnip greens on the fish to wash them. It required two skin grafts. I also rejected my own transplant and the skin fell off at work, but I’m better now. We do the buffets on a different schedule now. Catfish is Wednesday I think. But when it gets old and needs washed just grab a team member and we can rinse and refry the catfish. Thanks

The problem with Ft Knox and HRC as a whole is management and communication. I tell assistant manager Ben to comp a ticket for absolutely disgusting brisket fries and he goes to wrong table with a free beer and it’s an alcoholic. He ended up getting a dui after running over Kim (a tiny Asian lady) foot and crash at the hotel. Anyways, the amount of green smelly pee left by soldiers in the bathroom leads me to believe there are diseases going around that shouldn’t. Well, it’s still better than working cat fish buffet with Ben. He’s a fucking retard.
