Your channel is amazing. And i agree about the "no reference" people, they have no idea what they are talking about. Even Renaissance painters used to have reference, from the art pieces of their art masters and teachers. Leonardo Da Vinci and Raphael learned by copying the technique of their time.

If drawing portraits intimidates you because you're more used to drawing anime, don't worry about it. Trust me, as someone who _used_ to want to do the latter and intended to use the former as a stepping stone to get better, I can honestly say that I've since come to enjoy drawing more realistic portraits _far_ more than anime faces.

I think for not tracing, you did a fantastic job. I have done a couple portraits on ms paint and krita, but they were mostly meme related. I should try doing one with a pencil. Props to you for doing it even if you weren't sure it would be a masterpiece.

Why don't you make short version of your video ? It cab help to advertise your video with youtube short. Liké take a 30 60 second of your video and post it to youtube short with the button to go to your youtube video

Because i really want to focus on long format videos so i can attract people who are really interested in drawing. Yes i can upload few shorts and get few hundreds of views on each, but i don't gain that much from that

i'm not good at drawing too, but one hint i can give, is to finish your drawings, even if they look crooked, out of place or with a strange shadowing, finish it, you will learn more

Tips from a fine arts student myself: 1. Less pressure on your graphite pencil sketches, less pressure on it so you have better line quality. 2. Learn from "anatomy for artists" books. Books are the best to learn proportion, and overall anatomy. Overall you're doing great! And i really doubt you've been drawing consistently for 4-5 years, there's some key elements you still need to master, that people with 4-5 years experience had already mastered it.

Yea 4 years ago i started drawing but in those 4 years I was so incosistant which was really bad for any progress, I wanted to buy some books on drawing for the past month, do you have any recommendation?

@@SketchNoob Theres a really good one which ive followed in my teenage years: "Complete Guide to Life Drawing" - Gottfried Bammes. And many other books on renaissance masters. You might find interest in books of renaissance artists, but if you want to porsue manga art, you might want to try to find anatomy for manga art. When you porsue art books, make sure to read well and follow all exercises, references, and repeat how many times necessary to master and understand.
