Is is that tenors always sing an octave higher than what's in the score

HI I don't play piano but I know enough to give the choir their notes. But I have members who don't normally sing and cannot focus on their own harmony and gets distracted by the other harmonies

Thank you, Mike. Very pretty, but was a surprising transition from refrain to the verse, notes G to C in the A minor chord. You made it much easier and natural for us .... Challenge is to make that C sound appealing and crystal clear and right on pitch. Same challenge on the half step from A to G# on the word "labor".... Thanks.

Omg! I have also always thought of the “Town Crier” technique of singing the Alleluia, too! I thought I was just nuts, lol! I so enjoy your help and insights!

The verse is darker sounding than the Gospel Acclamation. I really like the karaoke version. I can practice even though my hand is not as good with the piano.

Hi Mike, it feels great to know that you are still doing what I knew you to be doing when I first came in contact with you in the heat of Covid lockdown during which I used to prepare for Sunday readings for mass at home celebrated by my cousin who is a priest in the Archdiocese of Hobart, Tasmania; he was locked down due to the pandemic on his visit to Nigeria. Your psalms were a blessing to every one of us at home. Ff to today, I now live in Athens, OH and I started attending mass at St. Paul parish, Ohio University last Sunday. May the almighty God bless and strengthen you to continue in his assignment, IJN, Amen

This is so detailed. Please how do you use your hand gestures to guide the choir to observe punctuation like commas and full stop and to avoid breaking the song in places without punctuation?
@MusicMinistry101Ай бұрын
Show it with your hands - where to put the comma, take a breath or show a continued gesture that connects notes together. A bit hard to describe, but show the music.

I found it essential; I'd just counseled a younger woman to take her abusive husband to court. Today. I thought I had problems... but God humbled me as I told her not to fear, just get stubborn; God will hear and help.
I LOVE the idea of imaginary lines of Top/bottom and LEFT and right. ALSO, showing the music ON SCREEN at the beginning for the in cue. EXCELLENT examples!!!! GREAT teacher.

hello, I'm a church choir conductress from the Philippines. Your video tutorials is really helping me as a beginner in this ministry. May I ask if I could still have the free copies of the file for choir warm-up exercises? It will be a great help in our church choir and will be greatly appreciated from us. Thank you!

Has the verse that Bob added in 2007 made it into any printing since it was written: "When the earth has turned beneath you and your voice is seldom heard When the flood of gifts that blessed your life has long since ebbed away When your mind is thick and hope is thin and dark is all around I will stand beside you till the dawn"
