The oral asthma medicine they were taking back then was a combination of the ephedrine, hydroxyzine, and theophylline, Very powerful. So powerful it was illegal to use in the Olympics as early as the 1970's. Yes it gives u a rush of energy. Marax (now banned asthma drug) was used by many athletes in the 70's & 80's.

Back when I sparred, had a guy go off on me when he thought he had me. Dude tended to lower his guard whenever he unloaded on ppl. Did the front guard, stayed calm and watched through my gloves to see his hands come down. Two solid straight jabs (I have a long reach) sent the guy straight back. I set him up for a 4-punch combo: 2 hooks to the body and 2 to the head, but I let him go since it was only sparring. So, yeah, McCall is right when he says you can catch a guy when he tries to "beat you up".

The last person that deserved to be cheated and beat up was alexis he was genuinely great humanbeing outside of the ring like he said pryor would've been KO and Alexis would've kept his undefeated record and less damage but was cheated out of that, can you remove someone from the hall of fame for cheating cause they should

He is right...modern heavyweights suck....they really suck. The surprising fact is that the only talented ones in this modern heavyweight era earn far less than the low quality ones commercialized and advertised to us. In this modern era, only usyk, hrgovic, sanchez can thrive in the 90s and 80s heavyweight scene

Thurman is definitely on point with this one. Today's fighters are definitely scared to get hit. Most if are so busy tryna emulate the Mayweather style, but lack the athletcism and counter punching ability. Haney and Stevenson the perfect examples
@ELo-wi7vv8 ай бұрын
In other words, Aaron Pryor was a cheater. A total disgrace to the sport. A complete disappointment. Someone who didn't feel confident in his own skills and strengths that he had to recur to cheating. When you accomplish certain victories and then you're discovered to have cheated, anything you ever did was a lie and a farce. What a coward.

I met Louie Resto in the BX, 188th St & Tiebout, the bar on the corner, Mendoza, the daytime bar tender, was an old man & we used to talk boxing all day in the 90's.... I didn't even drink but, used to spend mornings & afternoons talking to Mendoza and when the Resto / Collins fight came up, he mentioned knowing Louie & set up a meeting! Louie was cool, let me hold his championship belt & denied any wrong doing. This was before "Assault In The Ring" was filmed.
