is it sticky? If you have an ant problem would they go for it? 😂
@createandcrochetwithpatricia2 күн бұрын
Some people have had issues with ants. Where I live on the west coast of British Columbia, I've never had a problem. I have Christmas ornaments from over 40 years ago. If it is too sticky, then you may have added too much sugar, or it just may need more time to dry.

Hi! Could u pls answer my questions?

I would recommend starting with my Beginner Crochet tutorials so you learn proper techniques: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gWXag4Rma7Sdhck and kzbin.info/www/bejne/q3fSaKKObLaHeqM. This crocheted bracelet is the best beginner project because it is done using only the chain stitch: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fIuTdmuVobaLqtU Then this headband is made using a simple single crochet stitch: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nKeopniqg8mAp6s and can be sewn together as shown in that tutorial or with the knot look of this tutorial: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nX3FYX-AaZuEq68 This headband is also good for beginners, but the first one is even easier. Start with small projects like these and then graduate to something like a scarf or granny squares. I wouldn't start with a blanket until you've made a couple of smaller projects. Check out my playlists for all sorts of different projects!

Hi can anyone help with a query please, I am making a continuous granny square blanket fir greatcgrandaughter single bed, how do i get the lengh after achieving the widthvof 39 length 75 without making it bigger in widthvthan single bed. Many thanks.
@createandcrochetwithpatricia19 күн бұрын
There are two possibilities to create the blanket you want. The first is to make the square blanket until you reach the desired width of the blanket. Then you could add rows of the granny stitch on each end to get the blanket to the length you want. Stay tuned for a tutorial on the straight granny stitch, that will be my next tutorial. You could also make a rectangle blanket, but getting the proportions exact would take some special math (and I'm sorry I can't help you with that). But here is a tutorial for a rectangle blanket, and of course, you can make it as large as you like: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qKfbZIqqZdh6q68

Thank you so much for your response Patricia, sorry for late thanks,but I have just woken up, it's 7.30 am here in England UK.i Will do your first suggestion of adding rows as I am already 800grms in.don't fancy unraveling that much. I am also now a new subscriber.many Thanks Sonja.😊@@createandcrochetwithpatricia
@createandcrochetwithpatricia18 күн бұрын
I'm not sure if this new tutorial will come up for you in YT, but here is the GS straight stitch pattern. You can start in one corner of your blanket with a set of 3 dc, and in your case, you'll add a ch1 between the clusters. The second row would begin with the ch3 (as a dc) and end with a dc. Enjoy! kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZ7Xf5pvnL6siKc

Synthetics are horrific for shedding microplastics - a troublesome nearly forever material we have a nasty addiction to. This is not an indictment of your teaching, Teacher - but I find it nearly impossible to hold my tongue on homemade crafts using plastic, especially in fabrics that will receive a great amount of abrasion and fiber loss and microplastic shedding over its life; shedding into our own bodies and those of our loved ones, even the smallest of them - including pets… it’s the gift that keeps on giving right down the pipes from our washing machines, set free into an environment that actually IS learning how to deal with the synthetic material. Various worms and bacteria and other living systems can break it down - but not nearly fast enough nor widely enough. So it has to start with us. My thanks to you for inspiration on technique and being enthusiastic about teaching others how to make things at home. What about collecting and working natural fibers around us into yarns…? Say… cat hair? It can be carded and spun, right? Think of all the pet grooming places, all the surgeries that shave animals pre-op, potentially even fur from deceased animals, as some already do as a way to keep their pets close… thanks again for the instruction.

See 1:10 in the video for the brand name of the one ribbon yarn. As I say in the video...that brand is no longer available, except maybe used on Etsy. Everything else was collected over many years at thrift shops. You can use all sorts of yarns, ribbons, lace for this project. Use your own creative incentive!
