What scenarios would you say are legitimate reasons to fire someone?
@bluecollarleadership11 сағат бұрын
There are many reasons and many variables. It depends on what the leader values, the culture within the organization, the type of organization and the organization's mission, the track record of the individual, etc. What may cause someone to be fired in one organization may cause them to be hired by another organization. Some generic reasons that would likely cause someone to be fired in most organizations is violence toward others, consistently not showing up on time or at all, not adhering to safety policies, poor quality work, poor performance, being unteachable/uncoachable, stealing, lying, resisting/ignoring instructions, character issues that negatively impact the team or the organization, etc., the list goes on and on. Ultimately, the underlying principle relative to people being fired is that most people are fired for because of who they are (character related issues) relative to who the leaders expect them to be. Relative to my lane (developing the leaders and the workforce), those who are actively resistant won't have long to get on board. If they're mission is to badmouth and derail the leaders who are attempting to develop those within the organization, they won't have long, no matter what position they hold. When it comes to those who are passively resistant meaning they simply aren't on board and are taking a wait and see approach but not bad-mouthing anyone, the higher up the org chart, the less time they will have to get on board because they have too much influence.

Great idea! Thanks. Also, I bought an Excel book because many of the jobs I was interested in required Excel proficiency. Thanks for advocating about the principal of investing in onesself.

Mack is the real deal! I got the pleasure to speak to him over the phone yesterday and you can tell this man walks his talk! I’ve applied this strategy to “getting a raise” as a worker bee at my city water maintenance company and it 100% works.

Simmer into results boy that's sure true! I came back to a job that I knew how to do very well and came back on the top it'll make the ones on the top not like me very well and they has the most influence on the manager and I was no good to the guys on the top ! So I have zero influence on the manager but it's been a 2 year battle i just keep doing the best I can and help others to do their best and I feel the manager is slowly seeing what I'm doing and not listening to the others that has more influence.

It definitely takes time to build our influence @keithheller7775 and you are on the right track with doing what you can do, helping others, and delivering results like that will help you build your influence. Influence is built daily, not in a day! Keep climbing!
