Sugarloaf is by far the best mountain in New England.

Sunday River is nothing but tiny peaks linked together. You will never find a big vertical at Sunday River let alone 2,000+ vert LMAO

Your hate for the River is misplaced, unless you are saying this to scare off the crowds.

@@adamblais1593 No I just am underwhelmed by Sunday River. Hey glad you like it. I’d rather go to Jay Peak or Sugarloaf among others. Sunday River is OK but nothing that excited me

Beaver Pond Glades might be the best on the East Coast. Jay's groomers are mid.

Too bad didn't have good time last time family vacation over there. Not very Friendly for family with kids and beginners. Kids school starts the same time as adult, and in a different location, couldn't figure out how to make it work for adult beginner. A week over there, kids loved it. Yet, as a parent, i didn't get over the bunny hill, and i learned skiing in other mountains. Okemo is much more friendly place for beginners.

I love Jay Peak but it's probably best for hardy souls that love the mountains and know how to ride them. Okemo is wonderful for beginners and intermediates.
@charlessawyer83612 күн бұрын
Yeah it definitely more geared towards experts and die hard skiers. Not necessarily family of beginners

I live in between powdered ridge and mt southington. Grew up and learned to ski at powder ridge. Then in my twenties learned to snowboard at Mt southington. Worked at powder ridge the first two years they reopened and loved it. Great place to learn to ski and ride.

So how does this compare to Vail or Breckinridge Colorado?
@lukecico51559 ай бұрын
I live/ski VT and NH. I do take a week out west, like Vail and Breck. The west is big wide spaces, open bowls and, like Breck, a town to go to for Apres Ski. The east is winding trails, and can get icy. Only Stowe has a real village. All the big places, like Stowe, Killington, Sugarbush, have built huge mountain side resorts that feel like little villages. Cultures are quite different. NE is charming and inviting. Breck and Vail feel kind of chichi. All awesome, just different experiences.

Killington, well worth the drive if you live in the south (NC). It takes about 12 hours, but Killington truly is the beast of the east. People in the south don't really understand it, if they have only been exposed to the little, tiny ski mountains of North Carolina.

The new lodge is awesome! That said, no mention of the yurt. Best meal in Vermont. Should have a star. Ski through the back country trees at snowshed lift top skiers right, right down to the yurt. My favorite spot on the mountain!

Love the video, but can tell some of the clips are a bit dated. Don't know how dated, but certainly not from this year (2022-23). For example, Attitash and Wildcat no longer have any sort of terrain parks.

Stowe is a “finger down the throat” resort. No one mentioned that they charge $30 to park before you even buy a ticket. Bought by a western outfit that plays to the rich condo people. Look elsewhere.

I skied at Killington (then called 'Killington Basin') in 1961. (I was 13.) There was the chair on Killington Peak and three Poma lifts in tandem to get you to the top of Snowdon. That's all there was back then. The Poma ride was really fun, over the ungraded liftline. And once you got to the top of Snowdon, there were wonderful glades off to the right. I think it was the first time I had ever skied at the beginning of May. Good memories!
