This series was NOT a Perry Mason knock off. It was free of the flash and dash, sensationalism and often free of murder. It was thought provoking.

Agreed. Better than Perry Mason.

He could've gone into a lounge or bar, but he chose to keep his sightings rare to maximize his celebrity. That wears off with age and today's amount of exposure. If he were alive today, especially if he were married, it wouldn't be like the 1980s for him. He'd be received like Paul McCartney has been as he's gotten older.

I remember watching this when they used it as a filler in mid-1960. It is a little too milksop and faux-dramatic. Obviously it was pitched as a sitcom about the Bad Seed girl, then they got spooked by thinking it was going to be somewhere between the Penny comic strip and Father Knows Best.

But he also was a multimillionaire, got to travel and see the world where many can’t, had access to good health care where many don’t. So I mean okay???

I remember when I read that Gordy wanted to make Syreeta Wright the new Diana Ross. Syreeta even sang in place of Diana on some later Supremes album cuts that nobody listens to anyway. Syreeta did the demo for Love Child so that Miss Ross could learn the song. Syreeta also sang in place of Martha Reeves when Martha walked out of a recording session. Syreeta then did the lead vocals and the record was still released as a Martha and Vandellas record and it became a mid level hit...no one was the wiser. Martha was infuriated even more by the fact that Syreeta sounded like Diana Ross!!

I grew up on Long Island and thought it cool Truman Capote lived there. Without realizing it i moved to Holcomb Kansas and thought "why does this town seem so familiar "? Then saw the town park dedicated sign to the Clutters. Small world 🌎
