If it's something that goes away for months and comes back and goes away, I would assume it's not something in the brain. For instance a tumor pressing against the vestibular nerve wouldn't cycle like that. It would be pressing against it and growing. I would try to rule out inflammation. It might be the case that as she gets older, she suffers more inflammation, which causes more pressure on the vestibular nerve. Then once the inflammation settles down, it gets better. Maybe try seeing if your vet would be willing to try a mild anti-inflammatory in addition to what I assume is the normal treatment (Cerenia and Meclizine). A nickname in humans for this increase in inflammation with aging is "Inflammaging." This age-related inflammation fluctuates ... sometimes it's higher, sometimes lower.

Sorry to hear about your 15yo cat Piper. Vets use the general term "Wobbly Cat Syndrome" and they have to do several investigations to determine the cause. It sounds like you did what I did with my 10yo cat. Did you check whether she has any infections, especially ear infections? I also noticed something "not quite right" when my cat hesitated when jumping down from the table; she later chose the shorter distances to get down. The vet used the term Wobbly Cat Syndrome. My cat continued to deteriorate, she began "knuckling" (where her front paws could no longer fully extend when walking), and now she is mostly paralysed. We have done many investigations (including an MRI and spinal tap) and the vets still do not know the cause of her condition. They ruled out vestibular disease. I also made a video, and wonder whether anyone can help. Thank you. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bnTKi6aFe8qmaa8

@@tooflesstesla hi thank you for asking about Piper. There has been a lot of improvement with her condition. I am planning an update video for her soon. We did not get any major testing done I just did a lot of research and kind of ruled things out. Her vet is a very lovely person and I have stayed in contact with them and call whenever I have questions or things of that nature. We initially did blood work which came back clear. An mri was not something that was financially an option and the closest neurologist is several hours away. So I just read a lot and stayed in constant contact with her vet. I did watch your video and I am so very sorry about your Fee. I left a comment for you to read when you have time.

my cat, a 2 year old rescue, he one day started seeming like he was drunk. his eyes were all over the place. the day this all happened he also puked up the last nite meal and the morning meal. It was sudden and lasted for maybe a few weeks, the episodes last around 20-30 minutes. once a day. I blocked off the stairs so he wouldnt fall down the stairs. to this day hes ok but I wonder if it will return and why it happens. it was scary to see him stumbling but he recovered. It seems temporary and a mystery.

I hope I am not intruding with medical advice, but my one cat had a traumatic accident and ended up still with dizziness. I asked my vet about Serc and we used it for 3 months and it helped SO much with her dizziness.
@TheHopefulHomestead5999 ай бұрын
You are not intruding at all! I appreciate your advice. There is a bit more to her story than I put in the video. I have always suspected she fell.. either out of a tree or a window. The vet did some blood work and said that one of her numbers were pretty high. I can’t remember what it’s called, but he said it’s what we produce in our blood when there has been trauma. I appreciate your input and I will definitely look into the medication. Thank you so much!

Hi Nonna Grace! I think we are just very unsure because it’s our first winter. Vince’s brother has buff orpingtons as well and lives in our area. He has had them for 3 or 4 yrs now and they do really well in the winter so I think our ladies will do fine, just nervous lolol we are new chicken parents!! 😂
@d.a.tsun510410 ай бұрын
I can so relate to your experience, Sir. My husband started us with chicken raising without ample warning to me. I did agree just because I wanted to be the one who built the coop because I wanted Caroline Coop coop (but could not afford it, so I stole the design). He and his work buddies were going to build it, and so I jumped ahead. But I didn't know that while I built a coop for a max of 12 chickens (he got 7 hens initially), he also ordered 28 chicks from an online hatchery! At the beginning, we put those chicks in our living room. I work from home and during those weeks (or months?) when the chicks were in the tubs in the living room, I got startled often when they suddenly chirped. It's like living in a frat house with constant partying. Then they outgrew the tubs, so we moved them to the garage in a 350 gal cattle drinking tub, all the while I hurriedly built a second coop. Because I only had time building it in the weekend when weather permitted (it was end of winter but not quite spring yet), I had to keep modifying it because the chicks grew fast! In the end, we ended up making a hoop coop using 3 cattle panels to separate the boys from the girls (they're getting randy), and the 2nd coop for the girls. So we now have 3 coops with 37 chickens (some of them were the products of those 28 chicks themselves). And oh yes, the dust or danders was covering all and every surfaces in living room and garage.
@TheHopefulHomestead59910 ай бұрын

I was so shy to be out in public videoing and I still didn’t realize I was holding my phone the wrong way! I love a box fan! I would rather use that than an ac. I made a quilt once with bandannnas for a friend of ours. It was a bit tricky but it came out really nice. I seen one of your videos where u were talking about making her quilt when your done I would love to see it. I mentioned to Vincent about the deep bed method after I asked you about it and he said that is pretty much what we do, but he thinks that we weren’t using enough of the bedding so we r using more now. My little chick chicks were so little back then! They’re big ol ladies now lol. I will tell Vincent about saving his saw dust! That is a great idea! Thanks again for watching lolol
