Hi Jonathan here. First thank you very much for the video. I have a Salvimar Darkide , only 6 months old & my spear does not lock in when loaded. If i point down it might fall out. What do you recomend for a fix?

Alexander, thanks for the video! I have a Cyrano hft and it started jamming every few shots. The trigger gets stuck only releasing the line hook on the side and not the spear. I have to wiggle the spear with the loader and then I can press the trigger and shoot eventually. Of course it always happens when I am aiming at the biggest fish of the day lol. What do you think can be causing this?
@AlexanderGaos2 жыл бұрын
Bummer to hear about this issue. A couple of things come to mind, but what I feel might be the most likely reason based on the fact that you said it just started recently (assuming the gun wasn't dropped or anything) is that the horizontal pin inside the gun on which the trigger mechanism is mounted (and rotates upon) could be gummed up...if the oil is old and combines with old o-ring debris, I could totally see that happening. Not sure why wiggling the loader would solve that however. The good news is that would be a simple fix...just open the gun and clean it! Just a word of warning though...if your o-rings are old, perhaps they might get damaged when you take it apart and could have problems resealing when you reassemble, so be careful. However, given it is jamming, I'd say remove the trigger and the handle and check it out...it's pretty easy...just follow the steps in the video. Shortly after making this video I actually replaced all the o-rings in an old Cyrano 1100 (using pretty much the same steps I outlined in this video and my other video outlining the o-ring replacement process) and it now works great...it's now my regular dive gun actually. Hit me up if you decide to do it and if you run into any issues...and more importantly, let me know if you fix it! One other thing that comes to mind, but would seem much less likely is that the trigger pin (little pin above plastic trigger that puts pressure on the trigger mechanism itself inside the gun) could be a little bent. If you or someone else has ever reassembled your gun with the pin in the "up" position, it could have been forced and gotten a bit bent.
@доброум2 жыл бұрын
@@AlexanderGaos thank you. I will try and let you know.
@доброум2 жыл бұрын
Hey Alexander, I managed to disassemble the gun. I made a big mistake while doing it. I released the pressure while having the power switch in the low position (up) so only a small portion of the air was released. Then I removed the trigger, saw the pin underneath and decided to press on it. The rest of the air blew into my face and the pin flew away lol I am glad I didn't lose an eye and I was lucky to find the pin. I don't remember if I switched the power to the high position before or not. You were right, the metal horizontal trigger that releases the piston inside the barrel is a little bit rusty, the o-rings look good, the gun is only 2 years old. I will try to use some wd40 on it and clean the barrel of rust debris. In the other video you explained how to pour fork oil with a pump. Can't find it, will order from Amazon. Where should it go? Inside the outer chamber or inside the barrel or both and how much oil approximately? Thanks again for your help!

@Alexander Gaos - NOAA Federal Forgot to ask. Would a silicone spray like Blaster work to lubricate and protect from moisture and corrosion?
@AlexanderGaos2 жыл бұрын
@@доброум That's crazy! I'm glad you didn't get hurt...and what luck to find the pin, that could have been a major game spoiler! Really clean the pin and firing mechanism well...if you have a soft metal brush, that could be good, but maybe that's overkill? Anyway, lube all the parts with the fork oil as you assemble...it's messy, but better to have everything well lubed. Once the gun is assembled, stick the pump into the fork oil container and suck up a bunch of the oil, then attach the pump to the gun (same as if you were going to pump it up) and push the pump down, inserting the oil into the gun. Get it? Do that a few times and you should be good to go....then you'll just have to pump up the gun. It will take like 600 pumps, but just take your time ;)

Thank you for video. Unfortunately i have some problems with an old (20+ years) Mares Cyrano. I'm turning the upper part while holding the handle on the other side but it doesn't go off, it's just spinning in the spot. I have a feeling that something broke inside. Any advice what to do? Now i noticed that actually whole barrel is spinning while i turn the upper part (nose) because the air valve (where you connect pump) is also spinning 😞

Hey mate, my cyrano 1100 gun is 12 years old. I use it maybe 6-10 times per year. Mainly for coral trout fishing. I have never serviced and never de-pressurised for storage and it is still going strong. Having said that, my previous cyrano 1100 blew the end of the muzzle off under water. I should have fixed it as the muzzle was failing but that was 20 years ago before ebay and amazon had everything available and youtube to train :)
