I was at this game; the atmosphere was insane. I had been invited by HP and had a feed and drinks in the dining room, threw my business card into a draw for a signed Wallabies jersey and boom shakalaka I won it. Came back up after the match for a celebratory drink and was sitting there when I heard Gordon Bray call out my name. I just expected a signed jersey and I could stick it in my bag and take it home, but no it was fully framed with glass front. I had to carry it home on the train from Homebush to Redfern and then drive home. The comments on the train from the Kiwi fans were very amusing. Lots of wiping themselves, etc. I just reminded them of who won. It has moved with me many times, but I still have it hanging on my wall in my office. Every time I look at it it makes me smile.

All you virgins getting mad this is winning rugby. Reds are top of the table. Denying the top team points helps the brumbies chances. Who are fourth to gain higher on the table. Instead of the reds going further and having an extra point, the brumbies gain more by giving them an unnecessary point. This is rugby, not tiddly winks, also might have the Points differential so I'm with giteau here all you soft cocks having never been in a competitive rugby game let alone competitive sport.

Does anybody know who the commentators are? I had an old VHS tape of the 1984 grand slam with this commentary and would love to be able to rewatch it all.

Stop whingeing and get better. Reason why Wallabies lose because you're not good enough. Great players John Eales, Tim Horan won world cups because they worked hard.

This shows why Brussow wasn't as highly rated all round. His weakness was when his team actually had the ball, weirdly.

Where’s Mike Teague getting smeared into the ground by Scott Gourley, the 20 year old rookie? Thank god for the lions the league boys hadn’t come across to rugby just yet, Gourley switched to league after this series and was a regular ham n egger physically, big Mal Meninga in 1989 would have made this game an embarrassment, thank god union went pro, they were so far behind the athletes in Sydney rugby league by this stage it was laughable

Great vid. Genia is great at spotting opportunities blind side and reacting quickly...but the two steps he takes for his forwards to run on can really put Aus on the back foot. I watched a great breakdown of Phipps vs Genia and really showed the difference between a no step pass and the two step pass

I preferred him in 2009 when he was a lot smaller, fitter and faster. When he got too big he lost speed and incidentally became easier for opposition to tackle or just outrun. He's looking like he's in good shape this year though, far better than in previous years. Unfortunately I don't see him having that same speed he did before and hopefully he won't get exposed by faster opposition runners in open space.

When I started watching rugby again in 2015 after about 10 years I hear the rugby commentator say "Kepu" and said "man he has been around for ages" then I realized it was "Kefu" who had been there all the while :) Great memories.
