Here’s a fun fact. When they retired 416, they sold it to River Valley Metro Mass Transit District in Bourbonnais. It has been renumbered to 406. The same is with 417, and it is renumbered to 407. Both buses are still in service. And I drove 406/416 last Tuesday.

I really love the UPN train. I'm also a commuter train fan myself and I love Metra. My dad would take me to Downtown Chicago coming from Winnetka my hometown. Great catch.

I love pace buses including these ElDorado National Axess BRT 40 foot buses. I also drive these buses up here in Waukegan, IL. Great video of the 208 leaving Old Orchard Mall.

I've seen a number of these on campus lately. Looks like these are operated by DRES as paratransit for disabled UIUC students. They also have a fleet of Chevrolet low-floor cutaway vans.

City Of New Orleans always run late heading back to Chicago. I always see it at Homewood, IL. Best spots to catch some Metra, Amtrak and Freight Trains especially at Flossmoor and Olympia Fields.

Why some of the bus operators open the front doors before turning?

It is actually required by law by the IDOT and the USDOT to do that. It’s for the operators to hear vehicles approaching either way. Same rules apply to the St Louis Metro (Bi-State Development Agency). They do the same thing at railroad crossings.
