This interview is EXCELLENT, the interviewee is BRILLIANT. Thanks for this. I have seen other great interviews here (the CEO of Suno comes to mind), and I cannot believe this channel has so few subscribers and this video just 118 views!!!!!!!!! What's wrong here??? Perhaps the name of the channel is misleading or discouraging? Whatever the case, please do not stop. I am learning so much. Best wishes for a fruitful 2025.

What value are news websites adding? Wouldn't it be better to go straight to the source. Instead of say tech crunch it would pull from a startup website? If you want opinion pieces then paywall makes sense and blocks the AI anyways. Curation/review sites based on affiliate seem at risk the most, maybe they're locked behind email or ban scraping as well.

Wouldn't RAG work for the use case of newsletters? - Start in a local area with unlimited niches, using DB and RAG is basically free - Waitlist for new areas, once critical mass enable for that area - There are ad networks that most likely track location by IP, so you could run "cheap" ads to those audiences and also sell ad spots to fund growth

Very informative! We are starting to publish some of our datasets onto Hugging Face as open source. I believe high quality, clean data will be essential for the evolution of open-source AI.

Beautiful convo. I think some push back on the answers is warranted. I think the idea that a small player will win because they are more focused is valid, but when there is this much hype in a space, It is a risky play. Who is to say Satay won't wake up tomorrow and got to war with any of the startups? Bezos did it to many little companies before and drove them into the wall. A stronger play would be to build things big player is not willing to build for one reason or another, or the marketplace play, that is effective against medium players. Thought with a massive user base, facebook took most of craigslist marketshare almost overnight. They have not been able to do it to twitter though

Suno gives me as a guitarist and lyric composer the great possibility to blueprint ideas and then go deeper into them when I like the style Suno made. Sometimes audio is low on Suno (bitrate dropping?) and what has to be kind of a roadmap for them is the ability to reproduce songs or styles of Suno produced music. Now, when using the same prompts, everytime song and style is different, which is a pity, when Suno made a real Banger out of my ideas. and I wanna edit the lyrics e.g.

Too much gibberish. He sounds like Elizabeth Holmes to me. He goes from making sense, to just complete gibberish in 2 seconds. People assume they just don't understand what he's saying, but I don't think he understands either.

Leveraging quantum-mechanical effects to gain massive efficiency advantages under a probabilistic computing paradigm certainly isn't 'gibberish' - it is pretty much guaranteed to happen. It's merely a matter of what the most readily implementable such system will look like and who's gonna get there first. Admittedly, Beff often seems pretty vague when expressing these ideas and it's sometimes difficult to discern how much of it is owing to IP protection concerns and how much to possible conceptual problems. It also seems a bit weird for him to worry about overregulation when the unique advantage of his chosen paradigm is its inherent immunity to FLOP thresholds and the like. But as long as such ideological idiosyncracies don't get in the way of actual progress: More power to him!

"AI tools to keep the human connection". Such a ridiculous statement; shows you the level of intelligence of the people now running Etsy. Long-term Etsy seller here that left the platform months ago.

Josh Silverman is ruining Etsy, just saying. I’ve been there longer than he has, he’s hurting the authentic sellers and not listening to our concerns nor fixing what should be fixed.
Etsy stock is Down over $230 off it's high of $307 in 2021. Etsy is a pump and dump. Take Etsy Private. Nobody gives a care about Silverman's stock options. FIRE SILVERMAN. Make American Artists Happy Again.

Fee # 1 Processing fee 3% + .25. Fee # 2 Transaction fee on the Item price 6.5% Fee # 3 Transaction fee on Shipping 6.5% Fee # 4 Forced off site ads (Success Penalty Fee) 12% and if you cancel the sale, he charges your card for the ad fee anyway. That's 28% + .25 and that's BEFORE income tax. Josh Silverman must go to prison.

I remember in the late 1970's when DEC came out with the VAX 11 780 and it was speced to be able to do one million instructions/ sec "MIPS." I wondered if we had reached the maximum capability of a computer system. Now this video shows a single IC with 4-trillion, 5nm junctions and God only knows how many BIPS,TIPS... this will be able to complete. FASCINATING !!

I am so in love with Suno, Someone showed me Obscurest Vinyl and I had to know how they did it. Found Suno and I am so hooked.. burned through 2500 credits in like 5 or 6 days but I have an album worth of songs I love plus songs for family and friends out of it. I am super picky and have found writing songs with other people can get kinda tense. That problem is gone with Suno.. such a strange addictive feeling. Thanks for sharing this interview!
