This is such a unique piece! I’ve been looking for a Danelectro Springverb replacement, and this one is perfect. I recently made a video on the Univox PHZ-1 (BST LM-200), the phaser version with that awesome black tolex. You’d be welcome to check it out!

Nice Jam! Can you share how you work the Big trees into your rig. I just ordered one and cant wait to get it. Do you go direct out the Line output and into a interface? Or speaker out to a mid up cab? Any DI boxes or reamp boxes or cab sims necessary? Thanks and keep rockin.
@EricBeam13136 ай бұрын
In this case looks like I was using it as an amp into a Mic'd 2x12 cab. I use it in different ways depending on the source. With synths & bass I usually just capture the direct line out. No DI needed, it's output is hot enough to drive a line input. Make sure to pay attention to the output you are using, you don't want to plug the amp out into an line input.

lol that is a whole bunch of phaser goodness! I'm a huge phaser addict, so I'm loving it. One of the most glorious sounds I've ever heard is a Moog MF-103 in the feedback loop of a bbd delay. The way the input on the MF-103 clips/overdrives keeps the feeback from blowing up, so it stays really coherent even with heavy feedback.
@EricBeam13136 ай бұрын
Big fan of delay feedback loop processing. Can easily lose yourself in that for an evening.

It looks like you have additional dampening inside the bass drum. Am I correct?
@EricBeam131311 ай бұрын
I have a Kick Pro pillow in the center of the drum, but it's not touching either head. It just helps break up high-frequency reflection (basket ball sound).
@PaulMarangoni11 ай бұрын
@@EricBeam1313 I had a Kick Pro pillow too but I don't use it anymore. It's so heavy that I would have to remove it whenever I moved the drum, and that required removing the front head.

On the phone I’m kinda preferring the 56 the 57 almost sounds saturated in the low mids. I wonder what kind of difference that makes in the whole drum mix though maybe some beef could be a good thing. Thanks for the demo!

try the Sylvia trick of putting a mic in the end of a garden hose and then positioning the hose around the kit. It takes a lot of the cymbal out so you can get a different compressed/crunch on the lowmids. Great stuff! keep on tweakin!
