Wendell Scott forever a great driver who raced with heart and never quit. He ran with the Best of the best in stock car racing with a low budget. Picture of Wendell had the sponsorship was on his side he would have dominated nascar. I was privileged as a young man to see Wendell race 34 tribute car sits on my shelf

I work for my city with the string trimmers and unfortunately, accidents do happen, we have taken out windows, car windows, house and hit co workers with flying debris , one time a co worker took out this new house front window worth $900 bucks and after it was all said and done, my boss personally wrote the homeowners a check to cover the damage, my co worker was reprimanded 😆

I had the honor of meeting Wendell Scott, and his sons, back in 1975. Amazing family. Wendell bragged about taking crap-can cars and make them competitive. Often getting parts from junkyards.

OSHA does not have authority over local governments. Sometimes, their regulations are helpful to us but they definitely can't tell us what we can and can't do.

I grew up here, DONT MOVE HERE UNLESS YOU WANT A GOOD UP BRINGING FOR YOUR BABIES AND I NICE ATMOSPHERE, gangs and crime are pretty low right now, I remember at a city meeting the phase “no time for crime” and if rich white/Brown people keep buying up the homes we might be able to chase they bad out.🖕🏼😂😂😂💯💯💯

The River City with a River District that will no longer have its beautiful, wide river because the city in their infinite economic wisdom (sarcasm) will be removing the dam that makes the city have a big river. It will no longer be the River City is will be the Rock Creek city or Dry Riverbed city. Bye bye scenic River! Bye bye River Walk! Bye Bye River District apartments! Bye Bye Historic Americana! And just wait until invasive fish swim up river to eat the surviving native fish!! And 100 year toxic sediment ruins the water supply! Cancer anyone? Birth defects? I have seen NO economic decisions this city has ever made that have a actually produced something fruitful for the city. They had a gold mine with the preservation of the mill, mill housing, dam, and dam electric power supply (that river can produce power for the entire city!) and they throw away the very assets they have that make the city unique. I think the council under estimate the actual, natural size of the Dan River. Without the dam, it will look like a trickle running the trough the city. The bridges will look ridiculous spreading across dry land.

When i was a kid watching Greased Lightning starring Richard Pryor as Wendell Scott the scene where he got cheated out of a win, got wrecked and they wouldn't even give him gas money to get home it absolutely broke my little heart and unfortunately I learned about Racism that day, this mans story needs to be retold and by some weird coincidence there exists an actor that looks almost exactly like him.

The White People In Danville Are Different. What I mean is that they are not friendly at all. I grew up in Charlotte NC, and was born in Danville but left when I was like 11. To my point the white community in Danville are not friendly I honestly think they racist or just don’t want nothing to do with the black people in general. Like I said I grew up in Charlotte so its very diverse there people from all over the world. When I come to Danville to visit and try to interact with the people there I get a very weird vibe and stares kinda creepy. Then I drove around and notice plenty of Confederate Flags Flying I Said Ooohhhh I see why I’m getting weird vibes and stares. It’s like Danville is Stuck in The 50’s

I think Danville will become a popular place to live in the future due to its lost cost and job opportunities. The interstate highway, once it's completed, will change things for the better as well business-wise. The new casino will attract folks to the area in droves in the not-so-distant future. Virginia is a great state. Danville will be one of its finest cities.
