wow, what a story 🥺😭 I completely understand that makes didn't wanted to give the drama a bl tag and wanted to focus on the other story then the love story. but still the never missed a single chance to explain their feelings through their eyes and expressions more than their dialogue 🥺 however the drama ending was but it was a happy ending. the story of this two characters are amazing and so touching 🥺😭🥰

Yes in the drama they actually depicted their reunion... Cuz when they were separating the pattern on the clothes of wei ying is different from the one when he plays the flute at the end n lan zhan calls "wei ying"... It shows that after separating for some time wei ying did return to gusu n lan zhan recognised the flute sound n went to receive him... I got this info from a channel where they explained this part

So, I want to offer a slight correction to one of your points: In the novel, Wangxian never separated after the events in the temple (They did separate temporarily after the third due to a sort of misunderstanding after the third drunk scene, but it was only for a few hours.) They instead traveled the Cultivation world for a bit (as a couple,) before returning to the Cloud Recesses. (They even bump into Mianmian (The one that spoke out for Wei Wuxian during that one discussion conference, and defected from her sect (she was not a member of the Jin Sect in the novel, that was a live action only element.) Other than that, this was a really good analysis of the differences between the novel and the drama, and really, I like the iterations of both adaptations for different reasons (for an example,, CQL actually had an expanded sub-plot for the sunshot Campaign while the novel sort of just skimmed over it, despite it being a really major plot point.), and I think I'm one of the few (or only one?) who has an appreciation for the CQL ending, because its implied in the vary last scene that the two do reunite after some time. (Come one now, who else would Wei Wuxian be smiling at there at the end?) lol.

I simply love him....
