Nice and sharp on that full speed. I want my chirpflare to be that sharp! My first ever combo skratch I learnt. Got a bit forgotten as autobahn boomrange and all the combos with two clicking has taken over. To those that don't skratch. It is hard to learn. Years of constant pratice and not giving up on it! Year of two you can see the improvements. Probably best to learn to cut with your right hand to progress quicker. But I'm old skool lol

as a person who grew up among dj community and worked as tech/stage manager who read all manuals and done all equipment changeovers at many festivals over 15 years i’m finally starting my own journey of djing and i loved this video as there’s no bs, just simple and coherent instructions - bloody love it!

He's working with 3 audio sources, his mic, turntable and whatever the beat is coming from. If you can't understand why he would need to constantly readjust these throughout the video you'll never succeed in mixing. He wants his voice to be clear as possible when instructions are the most important part of a section, yet lesser when the scratch is more important to hear clearly. throw in the beat and things get adjusted yet again, then back when it goes to instructions only. this is done mainly by ear, not by looking at the line on the knob etc. and some of us are never fully happy with a given mix and tend to twiddle things more than necessary. Be the one constantly wondering if you can make what your doing better, NOT the one constantly picking at how others do things...

Dudes are hating so bad at this video, trying to spread the Screw love through hate of a literal style tutorial is the complete opposite of what he would have wanted. Straight clowns.

Way too fast man. Every DJ that does scratch tutorials goes way too fast. Everyone just loves to flex their muscles. It’s like we all know you can scratch already dude how about slowing down for us fucking beginners

Please, what is the difference between scratching on a dj controller like the Numark Mixtrack Pro FX and a Technics SL 1200? I know that the jog doesn't make the movement back, so in this case I have to do this movement on the controller?

This scratch stuff is so frustrating. Every video is way way to fast for a beginner. This is harder than learning the piano and guitar combined.

What bothers me is I guess you have to leave in NY to get this excellent instruction?? I'm in Maryland and can't drive to NY to go to school. I'm older, have a child, and I have full-time employment. So I gotta be "self taught." Thank goodness for youtube, huh...

I remember when i bought the ttm 56 Rane love that old mixer but i did not know it was not that sharp on the cut it had a lag on it crossfader but i took out the Rubber bumb that come inside the crossfader n put a metal washer on it then i was able to cuts nice crazy sharp it sound like having a innofader on it i was shock the difference sound when I was cutting it sounding like the vca crossfader from vestax cuz i was going to put a innofader on it but i notice i don't have to do it cuz it sound sharp on the cut so for now i leave it like that maybe later on i put a innofader pro on it but for now it sounds just like you was scratching with your Rane now im able to play with my mixer after all those years i got it in my closet brand new i did not use it cuz it was not sharp enough for my scratch mix so that idea came to my head so i save money for now im very happy i made it sound sharp when i scratch cut but in the future im going to put a innofader on it but cuz i like the magnetic crossfader n the feel of the crossfader n Chanel fader so smooth crossfader
