When I filmed this tutorial I used my iPhone 11. Now I use an iPhone 15. The trick is to position the iPad so that it doesn't catch the reflection of the overhead lights, which can be tricky. I'm glad you liked it. 😊

lost you. When I click on three dots it looks very different. For one, there is no 'Document Set up'. I have an iPad mini6. I even tried looking in search, No 'slide size' either, not even under help.

Excellent instructional video. I have a question though, the whole process seems extraneous and tedious and time-consuming, and I’m wondering is the juice worth the squeeze? I have numerous paper planners and I have every digital productivity tool in the world, what would inspire one to try to build their own version of this, is part of it, the fulfillment of the creative output?or, is there a legitimate lift?

It can definitely be time-consuming, but I enjoy the process of building it. That's why many prefer to buy an already-created digital planner. Too much work to create it oneself. Thanks for watching!

I really appreciate this video. I was having difficultly making a dashboard for a digital travel journal I was working on. Your clear instructions in this video made it easy. My monthly pages have pictures of beautiful places I’ve already visited and cities that I plan to visit.

Hello, I’ve found your videos a great learning tools. However, I’ve got stuck on exporting as images. Everytime I do the fonts are all out of focus and fuzzy on zoom in, not good enough to use to import into a notebook. I use screen size of the iPad Pro then once created selected export as high quality image. But it didn’t work for me. Is it that the newer version of keynote doesn’t support it like your version does? Not sure how to fix this. Can you help. Thanks 😊

It's hard for me to know what caused that. I created this tutorial a couple of years ago, so it was an older version of Keynote, so that shouldn't matter. I'm sorry it's frustrating. If I think of a reason, I'll let you know.

When you export as a pdf from Keynote, it keeps the hyperlinks and flattens the file. Is that what you did?

32:54 question, can you create the first master with the cover, pages, rings and tabs and then create the links on here and then duplicate the page, to create the other master slides, will the links duplicate on the tabs etc? 😊

1:06 really enjoying learning from your videos they are so explanatory and informative. A lot better than any I have tried. I wonder can I ask, in the videos are you creating on the iPad Air? I’m curious have you used the iPad Pro and the iPad Pro larger tablets? How do you find the weight difference when holding the tablets when working not at a desk? I’m waiting for the announcement on the 7 May 2024, I was aiming for the smaller one, my current is a iPad Pro 10.5”, but I’m trying to make sure I make the right decision as the larger one though a larger screen will be significantly dearer but the larger screen may be a better option when creating digitally. I’ve only ever used my iPad Pro after switching from my laptop (long story there) but iPad is a lot easier and I just wondered what your thoughts are on this. Thank you for your time. 😊

In that video I used an iPad Air. In more recent videos I used an iPad Pro 12.9”. The 12.9 Pro is definitely heavier, but I usually prop it up against my legs when using it. It’s not particularly comfortable to just hold. It just depends on what you’ll be using it for.

That would be perfect to protect my table from my tools when im not using beading mats and when working on the iPad perfect for protecting my iPad ram the table!! 😊😊. How do you find your iPad 12.9 for holding to use rather than on a table or stand? 😊 1:50 how do you find the newer iPad Pro work with a external hard drive, do you just use usb sticks or eg a 2tb hard drive, and if you use a large external drive how have your formatted it?

I'm glad you're enjoying the videos! I got the mat on Amazon (www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08H2GKHXL) As far as the iPad, I mostly use it not attached to a keyboard. For that type of work, I use my laptop.

@@PlannersbyChristine fab thank you, I thought good notes was subscription but I found that you can download 6 then pay for unlocking of 5…..somehow! lol. I. Eagerly waiting for the 7th May and apples announcement of the new iPad Pros, I was set for the smaller one lol I have now but I’m seriously considering going large, I’m jus t worried about the extra weight for holding it or using it on my lap like I do now. 😆 have you ever found a decent case for your iPad Pros that don’t have the pencil slot, ideally Smart Cover like or better Smart Cover like where it magnetises to the Smart Cover so it’s easy to remove and say add on a magnetic keyboard….as usual they never quite have what we are looking for! I’ve been pro since they first came out and I’m still on that first one! I’ve worn it out poor thing! 😆😆

That's more than enough. My planner is around 20 Mb, but the amount of storage necessary depends on how many stickers you add. In any case, 256 Gb is plenty.

I believe people have used PowerPoint on Windows to create digital planners. You may want to do a search on creating a digital planner using PowerPoint. There may be tutorials out there.

I’m having issues too, my text is fuzzy! My file size was just the same, hoping Christine will spot my question in the comments. I’m wondering if it’s the difference between the keynote version she uses in this tutorial and the current version in 2024! Just a thought. But I did notice the size wasn’t much smaller, mine went from 214k to 200k! Though it was just a simple page template to try it out. 😊 🤞🏻

A pdf planner will work in any app that allows pdf markups, except OneNote. So, if someone has an android device, they can use GoodNotes for android. Noteshelf is another app that works on Android.

I know GoodNotes has a bug where sometimes links don't work. I've found that if I close GoodNotes and reopen it, then open the planner, the links will start to work. I recently moved away from GoodNotes and have been using Noteshelf 3.

It's been a couple of years since I made that video, so I don't remember exactly where I got the background, but you can find backgrounds like it on places like Unsplash or deposit photos. Do a search for "textured background" on those sites to find images that might work for you.

Not specifically showing what I was doing there, but after you've copied and pasted a couple of blank slides, then you highlight all of the blank slides and copy and paste those. So you're basically doing a bulk copy and paste. Does that make sense?

Hii, I really hope you’re still answering to the comments in this video. The tutorial is perfectly clear and I’ve followed all the steps up to the linking part. Is there an easier and faster way to do it? Cause scrolling down every time is pretty unnerving😅 I heard u suggest using the laptop, but I’ve got windows and not a Mac, so I cannot use keynote

The only fast way I know of is to use my laptop. The way I do it there is, I click on the square where I want to create the link and use the hotkey Cmd+k. That brings up a screen where I can type in the number of the slide I want to link to rather than having to scroll to it.

I usually use the dimensions of my iPad Pro 12.9 inch even on my mac, although you could probably use 4:3.

To use it one it's completed? You can use GoodNotes or Noteshelf or Notability or Zinnia. However, planners are really meant to be used with an app on a tablet with a something like an Apple pencil so that you can write in them just like you would a physical planner.
