dude that’s so awesome, thank you so much !! I personally think you should always train your ear as much as possible. once you’ve got your basic chords and power chords down, try to challenge yourself to learn parts of songs by just listening and looking around until you find the right note. it takes time to build up so don’t get frustrated, but it’s definitely a great skill to have and you’ll be able to learn songs in no time ! I always prefer learning and playing songs that I like to improve rather than having an actual practice routine, it makes it so much more fun to just pick up your guitar and play. there are a few exercises I do, but it’s usually just for warming up my hands before I record, the spider walk being the main one. however if you do want a practice routine, there are people on youtube that will teach you all the basics on stuff like that (marty schwartz is a big one). I am self taught, so I learned a lot of my knowledge from just playing and figuring things out ! I would recommend learning the scales for different keys (which I should also get better at) ! for familiarizing with the fretboard, I post lessons every tuesday and I put the chord in the bottom right of the screen as i’m playing. that way you can see the chord AND where it is on the fretboard !
