@CDaviation10 күн бұрын
Thanks! I only had a large carry-on and a backpack, and from what I could tell, they didn’t seem overly strict with the carry-on baggage allowance. The crew were okay, the food pretty good for the most part, and the seat was comfortable enough.

Thank you very much! The A350 is an elegant aircraft indeed, and it’s even more so when wearing the ITA Airways livery. I do agree that a slightly more substantial second meal wouldn’t hurt, although to their credit, the focaccia was tasty, not to mention that one could always grab a sandwich from the galley mid-flight, at no extra charge.

Can't believe China Eastern's Skytrax ranking is placed outside the "Top 100" list. Plus, compared to the other 2hrs flight like MU2397, the Lufthansa shouldn't be ranked as the 18th.

I flew Ryanair for my very first time in April of this year, to Dublin and back. Both ways it was the old cabin, I was disappointed because I know that the new cabin and seats are far more visually pleasing and give a greater sense of space. Now I know that personal space in modern carriers is not what it used to be, but dang did it feel tight! My knees didnt actually touch the seat in front due to the absence of a seat pocket, but it felt tight nevertheless, particularly from the sides. I remember the armest being quite small. My back started hurting halfway through the flight; I felt as though the seat was pushing me forward all the time. Prior to these RA flights I had some flights on legacy carriers and difference in the seat comfort was definitely noticeable. Nevertheless, I look forward to more RA flights to get more experience. Fingers crossed on the newer cabin planes!
@CDaviation2 ай бұрын
Ouch, that doesn't sound like a particularly comfortable ride. However, from my experience, the 737-800s with the newer seats have more legroom - hopefully, you'll have better luck next time!

I even noticed one of our National Airline KM Malta's aircrafts during your bus ride. Sky Alps has definitely given a new lease of life to certain small airports and Ancona is one of them despite they face competition on the Rome to Ancona route This is one flight I rather cover by a train as there are frequent Intercity and Regional trains between Rome and Ancona
@CDaviation3 ай бұрын
I guess it’s a matter of personal preferences and needs. For instance, the train between Rome and Ancona does take over 3 hours at the very least, which explains why some prefer to fly instead. Also, the route can be quite convenient for those who have another flight arriving at or departing from Fiumicino, even though it’s on a separate ticket.

@bobby74113 ай бұрын

Contrary to popular belief, a "Turboprop" engine is a propeller driving turboJET engine. That's why it's called a turboprop. If you listen to it when it fires up, when the propeller starts to rotate and gain speed, you can hear the whine of the jet engine. If you're outside the aircraft, you can also smell it in the exhaust. The propeller provides 90 percent of the driving power for the aircraft, while the jet exhaust adds and additional 10 percent thrust. But Most people when they hear the word "Turboprop" think of a turbocharged piston prop engine. They are convinced that the engines inside the nasals that spin the props are basically Porsche engines. That's why much of the public objects to flying on turboprop aircraft. I myself love turboprops. I love the sounds that the props make, the box fan sound in ground idle and taxiing, and the bumblebee drone during takeoff and inflight. It's interesting how the 60 cycle flicker of the video produces optical illusions of the props rotating slower, or backwards. Some say that driving a vehicle with a manual transmission is "Real Driving". I say that flying in a propeller driven aircraft is "Real Flying". Taxiing in, it looks like they've shut down the port engine, and taxied solely on the starboard engine. Usually, when they fire up the engines, they usually fire up the starboard engine first, and then the port engine, when I favor alternating startup order from flight to flight to equalize wear and tear. As is, the starboard engine gets more wear and tear. If a twin engine aircraft looses an engine in flight and has to make an emergency landing, it seems it's usually the starboard engine.
