I have found that a candle takes out humidity in my sma?l tent, changing the dew point more than temperature.

Never knew they call this a truckershitch. I was in truckdriving like almost 40 years ago and used it. Still use it every now and then/

Can’t anyone on KZbin explain this knot using standard English? Ie. working end vs running end? You mean the end of the rope? Why not just call it the end? 😢 if I’m trying to do this myself I need to look at my own hands not yours, so clear language is critical. WTF is a “bite”? If I knew all this stuff already, I wouldn’t be trying to learn would I?

Warning: I found that using sticks looped around and thru a grommet will stress and tear the tarp at the grommet. I thought this was a great idea at first, and it did hold the tarp nicely in place, but at the the end of a three day camp I discover the grommets where deformed and the tarp was torn. This was on a 6 mil 12x16 tarp set-up as an A-frame. Has anybody used this stick technique without damage? If you have I'd like to know what you did because maybe I'm doing something wrong. TIA

These prepper people are paranoid and no area in america is secure from nuclear radiation as a matter of fact most of the atomic dust from the 2122 Nuclear bombs that have already been tested are in rural off grid areas like these people live. Yet these people arent aware of their detailed surrondings. Nobody talks about that thus these people are out of touch with reality. The wind blows nuclear dust everywhere around the world and the world is already atomic with Nuclear waste from all the testing they do with nuclear weapons. So unless your in a bunker, you got no chance.

Just a tip for the truckers hitch. When you go through the loop go around twice. It creates friction and holds it automatically while you tie it off
@Patrick_Arrington6 ай бұрын
Couldn’t you put the loops through the tarp from the top and have the ridge line on top??

Total crap for home defence . Try to fire a second bolt if you have 2 intruders. You are toast. Nothing beats a 9 mm with 15 rounds in it. You don’t have to be a champion…..just fire away. I saw this clip of guy in Texas with guys trying to break into his home kicking the door, knowing he was inside but oblivious to the fact he had a gun. He fired 13 rounds through the door in a nanosecond. The dudes weee unarmed but fled like the devil was after them and were arrested days later. One would have looked pretty stupid with a crossbow. Nifty little thing however, but recreational or hunting ( forbidden here in Europe…..but lots of farmers hunt hogs with it )

Not everyone can own a firearm or would volunteer themselves for the govt to inspect them when they want (many countries this happens in with legal gun owners). So this is a good option otherwise.

I think it might work better with an aluminum reflector cone above on the chain, and perhaps insulate the other side of the cone with an insulated paint coating so the heat is entirely reflected back.
@VoyagersQuest-c4m7 күн бұрын
@matthewkopp2391 Agree much about the aluminium cone . The heat transfer and radiation will multiply for sure. But why suggesting the paint for reflection? You don’t want the hot air circulation stat within chamber
